but do they have a central nervous system, they cant be infected by the flood

  • 05.29.2011 8:49 PM PDT

Whoa, hang on. In "Two Betrayals" 343 Guilty Spark says that the rings will make the galaxy "devoid of life with sufficient mass to sustain the Flood." Funny then, how the Flood never targeted Hunters for assimilation. They are, in fact, a colony of worms.

As far as I can tell if they were in the form of a Scarab or Hunter then yes, otherwise no.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

They need a damn story about Hunters. I want to know more about them. They're so...interesting...mysterious. Definitely my favorite Covenant specie.

but if they are not targeted or immune to the flood, wouldn't they be the ultimate counter. what i really want to know is if they survived the original halo fire and if they did, with memory of the forerunners. would they then contain secrets no one has been able to interpret due to their basic language

I have seen you future

Each individual worm has a central nervous system, however simple, so it would be affected by the Halo array's blast. The Hunters would be more difficult to assimilate by the Flood since the collection of worms decentralizes the nervous system, so it cannot be controlled by an infection form. It still has the cells that are affected by the Halo rings, so it can still die.

so why didnt the forerunners usem as weapons or at least mentiion them

  • 05.29.2011 9:20 PM PDT

the worms might not have been forming hunter colonies yet just slithering around there planet

Interesting question. Never tought about that before. In Halo Bloodlines 686 Ebulliant prism says: Most intiguing. A hive organism gathered into a single symbiotic colony with gestal inteeligence. This specimen may, in fact be immune (to the flood) The first immune ever encountered in this sector, I am pleasant to report. But, alas i suspect this specimen has insufficent mass and cognetive capability to satisfy protocol. Only inspection on a more granular level will confirm this hypothesis
So yeah, I dont realy know

i have an idea

say the legleko wouldnt be killed, but if they were in a scarab or hunter the telepathic connection would die and the mob would fall apart and the worlds would start going out on thier own

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

Ugh you people in this thread. Lekgolo can not be infect whatsoever seeing how they are just worms.

the higher forms such as hunters and such still can not be infect because they do not have spines. which pretty much closes the thread right there.

Even if the did it is highly unlikely to the point you could say they don't have a central nervous system. seeing how all the worms still are independently on a lower level.

Which brings me to the OP. Lekgolo were stated to be around during the forerunner era but were non sapient and completely ignored by the forerunners. It was only eon after the array fired that they are what we now know of.

And in order to be killed by the array the flood has to be able to infect you. so if you don't have all the of the following

1.A spinal cord

2. sufficient calcium mass

3.sufficient biomass

then the flood can infect you in halo can kill you.

sapience doesn't play a role whatsoever because that doesn't change the fact can still infect you. no different than the yerks or the Goauld.(spelling)
