i have an idea

say the legleko wouldnt be killed, but if they were in a scarab or hunter the telepathic connection would die and the mob would fall apart and the worlds would start going out on thier own
@Patt

but what about this?

Scarabs are no different than hunters.

The worms in a scarab are using it as a shell to take shape, the only difference is the the main gun. other than that they are just large hunters.

The halo array wouldn't cause the worms to lose cohesion, they can't be infected thus they aren't effected whatsoever.

Hence them not being shown in origins if anybody noticed, jackals and grunts are used for biomass.

Ugh you people in this thread. Lekgolo can not be infect whatsoever seeing how they are just worms.

the higher forms such as hunters and such still can not be infect because they do not have spines. which pretty much closes the thread right there.

Even if the did it is highly unlikely to the point you could say they don't have a central nervous system. seeing how all the worms still are independently on a lower level.

Which brings me to the OP. Lekgolo were stated to be around during the forerunner era but were non sapient and completely ignored by the forerunners. It was only eon after the array fired that they are what we now know of.

And in order to be killed by the array the flood has to be able to infect you. so if you don't have all the of the following

1.A spinal cord

2. sufficient calcium mass

3.sufficient biomass

then the flood can infect you in halo can kill you.

sapience doesn't play a role whatsoever because that doesn't change the fact can still infect you. no different than the yerks or the Goauld.(spelling)

i am obliged to say that you are right

however my followup question is why the covenant did not use the hunters as their defence against the flood and if, (in the premise that the next halo will involve flood,(precursor theories blah blah blah), could humans and the separatists now use this theoretical defense.

EDIT: wow , run on sentence on my part

because the covenant do not know this, they haven't had time to study the flood in depth and same for humanity.

This would be more valuable to the forerunners than us.
