I think alot of people are getting servers that dont know enough about the game to need one. Someone who doesnt know diddly sqaut about the console and doeas not belong to a group that would require a server, then why would they buy one!?! Your exactly right when you say that the servers have become weapons for their owners. But I still dont think people are right in saying that alot of people tk, its just like people saying that the best player in a server is hacking. Remember if your on blue team the red guy is not on your team!

Not alot of peopel play CE is because the first time they have it they eventually dont see much in it so they un install it...

> Also becasue it isnt that well known, it is only partially said, and people that only really want to bother download it. But don't get me wrong there are some awesome maps on Halo CE.

I know about it, I even played it for a few months but I stopped because I simply didn't like it for a couple of reasons.

There are almost no players, the ones that are there are scathered over a huge number of nearly empty servers that are running way too many different versions of a certain map.

That about sums it up. And the fact that I am genuinely enjoying myself in the standard PC version doesnt encourage me to make the switch again either.

Yea Ice is rigt when he says that the servers are pretty emtpy. But you can find some good fights. Some of the best players inthe game hide in little servers all day just waiting to see who comes in. But you just have to have enough maps to find a good game.

A problem I encounter a lot in CE is that maps are very laggy compared to HPC, even though they have the same pings and aren't always huge levels or anything. Maybe that's more of a common problem than people realize?

I think CE got ignored because

1) Not enough advertisement. The message in the server browser wasn't enough. Kiddies online need advertisements shoved down their throats in big neon popup windows to clue in that something's happening.

Dude, the advertisement is in bright yellow--I think it's enough.

2) Elitist, arrogant, abusive trash-talking whores run most of the dedicated servers. There's no fun like getting on a server, being tk'd run over and insulted til you fight back and find yourself banned because it was the admin the whole time, instigating.
True, true, that does get irratating...but there are also a lot of cool people on Halo PC that don't trash-talk at all.

The moral of the story is: People use their game servers as weapons. Why do you think the hottest topic about dedicated servers is

HOW DO I KICK+BAN PPL!!@#&

Because that's what it's all it's about. Power. Over everybody else. Power that gets abused. I'm really starting to hate Halo PC multiplayer simply for the outright -blam!- attitudes most "admin" have with their servers. The alternative is BUNGIE-* servers and we all know how fun that is -_-. This is why the REAL internet is run by crusty old UNIX gurus. A server is more than a toy and it sure shouldn't be a weapon.

Maybe the people that make the ban threads you mentioned above are having the same online experience problems as you are. I have been kicked from stupid servers sometimes, but not a lot.

Halo 3/XBL: Zzzyax

I am a proud play, non prick admin, of halo CE, and if there is no people on, just join a server with the most people on, most people quit because they are too dumb to understand how to work it, "how do i join servers?" "how do i make maps" there is a massive like 500 page tutorial on how to make maps, yet they moan on and on...

so basicly people dont like CE because its to complicated for their tiny little HPC minds

Also, I noticed the people belonging to clans on CE are very annoying. If im in a stunt game for a break, they come in to kill everyone. In a normal game, they curse and get upset and act like their the best thing that ever lived.

Another thing, I went to one server and they kicked me after only 1 sec. I went back and they sayed I was kick because I'm a hack. I was going, why do you think that?! I'm no hacker! They said I was a hacker because my ping appeared to be a 0 for a split second. I was kicked again, and never came back.
