i was playin halo with my dad i was only like five i know i know the games rated 17 but my dad needed help with legendary i guess. anyway he loaded a level i soon discovered years later that level was called 343 guilty spark. the level was like really scary and when the video came up with jenkins in it and the flood i just said so those are the bad people daddy. and he said yes. what he didnt tell me that the shot gun was good against the flood and i useed my default weapons (assault rifle magnum pistol) and this was on legendary so i kept dieing due to my primitive halo nature and not knowing the good weapons i actually thought the pistol was the best. after finishing the level i was like can we do a different level those green things are scary. years later halo 2 came out and i would never play a flood level by myself. i soon realized that the flood where zombies of humans and elites because i saw the flood combat form wearing camo pants i was like stop im on your team i was 8 then. then i realized they are infected. i was eleven when i got my 360 i played odst relieved there was no flood in it. when i got halo 3 flood gate wasnt so bad because i had Ai helping me. it took me two weeks to get enough courage to play the level cortana alone. soon igot reach and was dissapointed there was no flood in it. i guess i liked the excitement from the flood. PS i am 12 now im not one of the betraying 12 year olds with the whiny high pitched voice. i dont even use the mic.

My first reaction to the Flood was more like "Awh, what's this bull-blam!-." I just liked fighting the Covenant only. I don't know why.

I'm not gonna lie. I got freakin' freaked out. In fact, one of my bros watching me play puked.

At first I thought "cool, zombies" Then I was like "why do they have guns?" Finally, I realized that "small zombie plus dead alien = big zombie with gun." So to this day I kill every little Flood I see before killing the big ones.

I make a living of selling my body, and I don't mean sex.

I was screaming really loud with my friends back then when we first saw them.

The mystery and spine-tingling ambiance of the 343 Guilty Spark mission is really what sold having to fight a new horde of bad guys in the game, for me. All of those terrifying moments made for a really special and memorable sequence.

My reaction? Obviously, a near ten years later of living life, it's easy to make words on a forum board that cover up the sheer amount of fear inflicted on my first run with the single player. Even now, parasite levels still manage to keep me on the edge of my chair.

Sure, some of them are a bit of a pain to take down and could even be scarring to the mind of a gamer in the earlier ages. Young or old, all happiness should be easily restored en masse when the delectable popcorn of a carrier form is served to your tubes and consoles.

THATS MY COOL MAN I CAN'T TAKE IT OFF!

I shot both arms off of two of the guys who came after me, completely by accident. After getting over the initial 11 year old's horror at successfully shooting off something's arms, I laughed because they both rushed me and didn't really do anything.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

Some combination of amusement and slight a bit of... not really fear but something made me hold the left thumbstick backwards every time I saw one of them, but I was about 12 or 13 at the time so that much could have been expected

I remember I was very young. The level 343 Guilty Spark...aww man. I remember like it was just last week. I was playing with my older brother, who introduced me to Halo, and as soon as I laid my young, virgin, frightened eyes upon that first elite flood combat form, I immediately ran to the corner of the room and refused to look at the flood, while nearly crying.

Call me odd but... I was wondering what they smell like. I can remember thinking about it, the first time I seen them, asif I had just done it all over again today.
I realy, realy dont know why.

6/21/2011?

I was scared. When I first saw that army of flood, I "spray and pray" my AR, and was then quickly killed off. I was not very good at the game, but I stilled had fun.
