"The measure of a man is what he does with power"-Plato

In Halo 2 when The Grave Mind has John and Thel before it teleports them to two separate locations at the same time.

How the hell is it done?

How did The Grave Mind get John on to High Charity that accurate and that fast?

How can a biological entity teleport people?

Thinking of this brings up questions like:

Is it more machine than flesh?
If so then who built it to be like this?
Why was he built?
Is it a mutation of it's real self?

Discuss.

The Gravemind had Penditent Tangent, the monitor for that Halo. The Gravemind was, with Penditent, able to control the Halo's teleportation grid.

But he sent John to High Charity. That is no way linked to the Halo Array.

Or is it? Since it has a Dreadnought in it.

It was around/near the Halo. Cortana did the same thing in CE remember?

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

I would imagine the Gravemind can tap into the local Halo Array teletransportation grid and send them where ever they need to go.

But then I wouldint understand how he sends the Chief to High Charity...

Yeah, I know, I need to read Cryptum.

Except the ship Cortana sent John onto was still on the ring, just stationed above the ground. High Charity was in space at the time, which is not on Halo.

Imagine a triangle. It's perfect, but a little plain. You take a chisel, and carve a small decorative symbol into it to make it a little more interesting. People like it, but it could use a little more.

So you then take a sledgehammer..

I guess High Charity was close enough to Installation 05 to be teleported.

I still want to know why 343 didn't teleport MC all around Installation 004 instead of making him walk (library)

Maybe it was because of some weird safety protocol. Nothing can be teleported straight to the index chamber.

Edit: I wonder more why Gravemind didn't teleport Arbiter straight to the control center. We know the teleportation grid is capble of doing that. Maybe Gravemind partly "see to the future" and it knew Arbiter would need help from Johnson?

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

What I believe to be a satisfactory answer to your question (read the responses as well).

1) it was bungie kid and 2) people always rag on the library for being pointless, wilst missing the point themselvs.

Spark could have teleported you straight to the top yes, but he didnt. He even locked you in a room with the goddamn things once.

He was testing your worthiness as a reclaimer. That was the whole point of that level.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

He had access to Halo's teleportation system through Penitent Tangent.
