Here is an idea, if you see a post you don't like or agree with, don't post in it DusK. That would make us all happier as trolling would not start, fanboyism would not start, and raging would not start from both sides.

Hypocrisy?

And to this day, it's still a wonder that people will actually defend this game. It's simply bad, and it frustrates me that people will defend the same way that people defend Call of Duty. Have you just NOT played any PC games before? When I first played H2V as a PC noob, I thought it was amazing as well. But guess what? The more I delved into the platform, the more I realized how many games truly dwarf it. It's the same thing as an 8 year old thinking that Harry Potter are the best books ever simply because he hasn't read anything else. So my advice to the Halo 2 defenders is to simply play some more PC games until you realize how silly this game is. I'd recommend Quake Live since it's free. And if you're willing to pay money, get some Steam games made by Valve or some Battlefield games. After playing Battlefield 2 on the PC and experiencing how robust a TRUE PC game is, you'll never ever want to go back.

No one is denying H2V's low population, not even me. That's not even the focus of this thread's disputes.

However, you are denying that the game is dead. A game is dead when it has a very low population so therefore you are denying that H2V has a low population.

2 days ago I got on H2V and i saw ~80 players. Now unless you like to categorize a game as "dead" with 50+ players, then you aren't going to be a very successful photographer. Pokemon? Oh that's right I remember when you said u had to go to bed cuz ur parents restricted you from staying up after 9~10pm (this is when we you asked to play with CE/H2V with me). You need to stop sticking up for DusK, it's getting old.

I think "sticking up" is a poor choice of words. You know the same could be said about you and wrecker. I think a better choice of words would be, "DusK and Jacob are two independent thinkers who share similar opinions about H2V."

You know that saying "who's more foolish - the fool, or the fool who follows him?"

I don't think there's any fools on this board and I don't think anyone is following any fools. Sorry.

I take great offense to that comment. You are officially an uber-bully.

Halo 3

1. I am denying that the game is dead; that much is true. You should check what that means, though. Dead, in terms of video games, means no more activity. There is activity in H2V, so you're wrong. Doesn't matter how little activity there is because if it's still there, it's still there.

2. I don't remember "sticking up" for Wrecker in all the time i've been making posts in the Halo PC forum. Dusk and Jacob, on the other hand (specifically in regards to Jacob), have been sticking up for each other since i've started making posts in this forum

3. Just read a little back and try not to sympathize for Dusk and his unacknowledged verbal behavior towards H2V and its gamers.

Just going to say from this point on that I believe this thread and maybe a few earlier ones pretty much sum up what I believe needs to be heard regarding the few "discontent users" on this board. I'm going to quit replying to the hate cuz it's getting nobody anywhere and this forum isn't advancing no thanks to all this arguing each time people post about H2V. Dusk, Jacob, or any of the remaining few that are unhappy with what I or anyone else have to say, go ahead and let off some steam with some "evidence", or any other crap you feel needs to be said. The dozen people left on this forum will enjoy the reads, I guess.

However, I will continue to provide conversations to help with anything i'm capable of (when needed).

Have fun.

1. Fine the game is almost dead. It's on its death bed.

2. You do support Wrecker and agree with his opinions.

3. I sympathize with DusK. What you goin' ta do 'bout it?

Oh, ofcourse like you don't hate at all. Just don't reply to the "hate" then.

I agree that Halo 2 Vista is a bad game with a very poor population, but I like to play it now and again meerly for nostalgic purposes and kicking n00bs arses.

I just don't like the way people go on and on and on about some stuped game, arguing about it will not serve any goals or develop society or fight comunism or thirld world poverty, will it now? :)

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Posted by: Zetren
The reason we hold a grudge against halo 2 vista is because of the mountain of problems it has: i.e controler favouritism, super lag on good PC's, lack of mods/maps, very very poor graphics (seriously, they are worse that halo PC), lack of suported resolutions, hog turret jumping, REALLY REALLY ANNOYING MELEE LUNGE, shield recharging gliches, crappy FOV.

Those are just some of the problems (anyone care to add more?)

I'll add one most people don't seem to be worried about. Some person(s) at Microsoft taking an existing franchise game and using it to leverage people into buying copies of Windows Vista. There's no sane reason for H2V to require Vista as a minimum. Doing that was a disservice to everyone interested, and shows how low some people at MS are willing to go to keep the money pouring in. I fell for the trick, and paid for a shiny copy of Vista I didn't need or want, all because I loved the Halo games and wanted to keep playing the series on my PC. H2V killed my interest in Halo, but I still get angry when I see another victim crawl in here wondering why H2V has let them down so completely. Tricking people out of their money is wrong. Doing evil things to people in general is wrong!

I agree with you node. H2V was used to entice more people to buy Windows Vista. Corporations such as Microsoft and Apple put the money before the customer.

This thread is precious.

The bottom line is H2V is a failure as a PC game. Like Nodey said Microsoft didn't set out to make a PC game or even to port a console game to the PC. They tried to make a vehicle to sell Vista/GFWL as a PC gaming platform. They tried to copy what they did with Xbox Live onto the PC. But they didn't think. The reason why Xbox live was so successful is that console gamers never had a way to connect with each other. PC gamers already had all of that with X-fire, online forums, irc chat, etc. We don't want to use a controller, just port the game and we will handle the rest. But no, Microsoft can't just do that so they ruined one of the best game francises on the PC. If they had just ported the game, they would have made 100x more money and we probably would be playing Halo3PC right now. What Dusk and the rest of us are so bitter at is what Halo2PC could have been.

Hey, I'm TetriS/r4v3n/Ryx. I've been modding Halo 1 pc since late 2008-2009, and playing Halo 2 Vista since summer of 2010. If you need any help with Halo 1 modding, just ask; I haven't modded in a while but I remember most of it.

I'm always up for a h2v game; message i4Ni TetriS and I'll get back to you.

I hate backwash.

But all the other gametypes aren't that great. CTF on bloodgulch gets reeally boring.

FFA on midship is rare, and classic sanc -blam!- is really hard to find.

Fiesta pisses me the -blam!- off though.

Weren't ignored man, they're arguing, can be missed. There's no denying this game is a bad PC game, based on the terrible m+k support and lack of mod tools that couldnt even match the console counterpart. I agree, BF2 is an amazing game and is arguably the one PC game i will still be playing for years to come.

Fact is, H2V isn't dead, which is as far as i can tell, the whole point of this "debate". However, there's no denying it's well on it's way too...

Your right, Coag seriously sucks, and it's always the same people playing on Coag EVERY DAY.

Halo 2 is not dead, it's dying a slow and painful death. Heck, I played a game about a minute ago, got disconnected from live twice. If Hired Gun spent as little as a month, only a month, going over these stupid issues i'd guarantee it would be as, if not more popular, than halo 1.

That happens to you as well? I will randomly get disconnected, and then when I try to join someone in the game, it says "cannot connect to party". However, if I try someone else in the game, it might work then. So stupid.

Why do I get the feeling you're trying to intentionally piss people off?

Anyway, I think both gaming PC's and gaming Consoles are well equipped for gaming.

However, I do think gaming desktop PC's have an edge because you can upgrade the parts without having to buy a whole new machine.

On Topic: I believe H2V is definitely going down the tubes population wise.

Yeah since November the number of servers that are full always has gone from about 6 to about 3. And more people are playing ffa, though.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

I admit H2V is boring on the PC. There's nothing to it anymore. Halo 2 on xbox live is another story, though, and to make things more clear on my part I just want to remind people here that there are valid counter-arguments for almost anything in both Halo 1 & 2 (for the PC/xbox & xbox respectively). I just got a little frosty a while back when people were raving about Halo 1 being superior in all ways, etc etc. Gameplay changes for a reason.

Yeah I know I spiraled off the main topic of this forum (PC section) by delving into H2X, but only because people kept taking things out of context. Relating H2V to H2X is just not acceptable.

In the case of H2, it was so bad players such as you wouldn't feel bad all the time.
