"A LIE is a LIE"

- Truly intelligent and deep Black ops trailer

Wasn't it told that the Hunters joined the Shangeili's side, along with a few grunts (Halo 2)?

I find it odd in Halo 3 there's none on your side.

We're not retreating... We're advancing, towards future victories!

I think they realised having you fighting jackals and brutes for the whole game would get particuarly dull.

So they completely scrapped the seppratist ideas and hoped their pretty new engine would make you forget.

Five years older and wiser
The fires are burning, I'm fire, never tire
Slay warriors in the forests, and on hire

They didn't have hunters on your side because they thought people would find it too confusing.

All they had to do is make them another colour though...

Yeah but even though there is separatist hunters there's also loyalist hunters. Same with grunts.

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

There was a lot of confusion following the immediate aftermath of the Schism. Helping the Seperatists was by no means a permanent decision during the events of Halo 2.

Gameplay reasons.

Unfortunate.

"We knew the world would not be the same.
A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds...'
I suppose we all thought that one way or another."

It really is unfortunate. The Lekgolo are definitely one of my favorite species. I could imagine a really awesome campaign mission where you dropped in with a Hunter pair and just tore the place up.

This, also it wasnt the whole entire hunter race. The hunters just admired the Elites but would not go out of their way to help them. Some did obviously, but most of them did not.

If I don't believe in him...

i have a feeling that if the movies are made, someone will have sense to have at least show a few separtist hunters asn grunts fighting with the elites and humans in a halo 3 movie
unfortunately, since it was a video game, gamplay would have become repetitive or confusing

Even an arbitray mention by the Elites that "Our Hunters have engaged their Hunters" or anything like that would have helped mend that gap in Halo 3. Such a shame, because to us the missing Hunters and Grunts of the Separatists is so painfully obvious.

We ain't as stupid as Bungie thinks we are, eh?

My name is Legion, for we are many.

Maybe because of fear of the Brutes?

All the separatist groups that weren't Elites just went home. Either that or they all got killed.

The Hunters were still on the Elites' side after Halo 2, Bungie just didn't include Separatist Hunters and Grunts because they thought it would be too confusing for players. I know having friendly Grunts and enemy Grunts would get confusing to me (probably also why you didn't have too many Grunts with you ont he Arbiter's first mission in Halo 2, to avoid confusion between Heretics and your forces). I wouldn't be too confused by Hunters, since they're a rarity and they could be made to look different enough to tell them apart.

I can't say whether the Grunts as a whole were still with the Separatists or not, but I'm sure that there were still plenty of them on the Elite's side.

Fighting alongside Hunters and Grunts while at the same time still fighting other Hunters and Grunts would get incredibly confusing. While they could easily have made Hunters olive green like the Phantoms, Grunts are already every color of the rainbow. No distinction would be noticed.

I think as the story goes, some Hunters and Grunts did fight alongside the Elites and Humans, but we just never saw any of it.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

In H3, it was more likely due to the hectic back and forth jump, not a big time-span. Not enough "heretic" grunts and Hunters were there to be mobilized at Earth is my guess.

I mean, word needs to get through. After hundreds of years in a covenant unionship it would be hard for the other races to just dissipate because of hearing about the events of Delta Halo and so on.

Most likely why you were helped in the end of H2 was because they were witnessing first hand accounts of such betrayal.
The few grunts and hunters were merely there to support the cause at the time.

But going back into the whole covenant side, it wouldn't be easy to simply change the hunters and grunts minds, afterall the news brought back would be from the covenant, which may have their own twisted version of the news.

How would you get confused between the covenant Grunts and the Heretic grunts?

They look nothing alike, and the fact that your reticule goes green wehen looking at a Covy grunt just makes it alot more obvious.

And the fact that they made the Grunts your enemy when they were with the Elites in Halo 2 just made it more confusing. They could have cleared it all up with one line like:

"The Grunts/Uggnoy have betrayed us." said by Thel

OT: They should have a phantom drop a few hunters and grunts on the storm when you charge the AA gun. And have a few Separatist ships attack the forunner dreadnought

I was talking about Separatists not the Heretics. Having friendly and enemy Grunts in Halo 3 is what would have been confusing, the Grunts would both have incredibly similar designs and it would be very easy to get the two confused.

hi

since we hardly see any hunters/scarabs, about half the hunters were on each side, its just they were with the elites. (note: this is an estimate. )

they probably not seen in-game but helping them another way, or they went back.... TO SPACE! "hunters and grunts start floating" wawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawawaWAWAWAWA "diappears... back to their planet"

Signatures are for squares.

I remember someone in an interview(I think Joe Staten) saying that the Hunters and Grunts were still part of the human alliance, they just were fighting other places than the chief. There was just more loyalists than separatists.

Or something like that.

wouldnt it be awesome to see 4 hunters fighting?
