Subject: CoD copying Halo

Grr. I just hate the fact that Activision is putting up "Call of Duty: Elite" somethin' similar to B.net or Halo Waypoint. It also tracks kills and games. The worst part of it is CoD is probably gonna be more famous once this happens. Halo never get's any recognition these days anymore. I sure hope Halo 4 or HD can put up a fight.

I know, this is totally not contributing to Bungie Universe...

Yeah, it is frustrating.

Then again, I wonder what Bungie have planned for the future; could it be an online service that dwarfs all competitors - Bungie Aerospace, perhaps.

Who knows.

Bungie Aersospace is a company btw. It's similar to Bungie West.

Even if it is, just think about what sort of projects they're working on, right now.

Activision set up Beachhead Studios to develop Call of Duty: Elite, perhaps Bungie set up Aerospace to do something similar.

The possibilities are endless.

Here is the thing with CoD now, a lot of fans think that BF3 is going to be better, so they just swiched to BF:BC2, and now it is IMPOSIBLE to get a good team. I dont what halo to be like that.

Why did I never think of this! Now that Bungie is free, They can make PC games too.

At least we don't have to pay a subscription of 8 dollars a month.

Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

Bungie brought looking up and down to FPS's. They're used to being copied.

On the 360, None of the CoD games out sold Halo 3. And before 3, Halo 2 outsold the CoD at the time.

The pattern? Every Halo in the MC trilogy has outsold the CoD of the current release time.

If the pattern is to continue, Halo 4 should outsell CoD, as well, be over 10 million.
Not sure if Halo Reach however has turned everyone off from Halo lol

How much of a role did bungie have in Halo CE in Co-developing with MS Game Studios ^_- Who was it, Originally who over saw the Halo project? ;)

Oh no. Another game company wishes to have features for their game that would benefit their franchise, and it just so happened that Bungie did it first. For shame. How dare they. Bungie has to own the monopoly on anything they design, because otherwise it just isn't fair.

Right? Nop.

I'm fairly confident that Bungie Aerospace is a government commissioned engineering company that is building Pelicans for the Military, haha.

The only thing I fixed was adding the "e" at the end of nope. Other than that, 100% agree.

I don't really care. CoD is good fun. Waaay more popular than it should be, but good fun.

With Activision behind the whip, IW and TA pump out games in turns, with one release per year (with this year giving us two generic shooters, Black Ops and MW3). Two titles in a year is ridiculous. CoD is the fast food of the games industry: It's lower quality, the makers don't give a damn about you, and it'll always rake in more cash than the real series.

Don't get worked up about it. Last time I checked, McDonald's was much richer than any high-quality restaurant chain.

Variety is the spice of life.

I wonder if it occurred to anyone that it's quite possible that Bungie had a hand in helping design Elite using part of their Bungie Pro model considering that Bungie now has positive relations with Activision. Sure Bungie only has a publishing deal with the corporation, but I wouldn't be surprised if Activision or any studios under its wing asked for some help or consulting work in Elite's development.

I'm sorry, I can't wrap my head around a catastrophy of that magnitude.

Activision really is a bunch of copypasta artists. its quite pathetic, really. im almost positive the first 3 CoD had the same exact opening sequence

Don't forget how Call of Duty 2 copied the idea of regenerating health.

Agreed.....but in typical Activision fashion they charge you money for something that others offer for free....now that is the realy messed up part. I don't like CoD, think its extremely mediocre, but even I think its fans are getting f-d over big time now (even if they are annually by buying the exact same game over and over again).

Anyways: bright side is that I already heard of several big CoD fans that they will now truely not buy MW3 anymore. The series achieved its peek, and will now begin to crumble. Mark my words.
