My brother and I were playing Long Night of Solace and my brother posed a very good question.

How could Noble 6 have put the corvette on a refueling track to the Super Carrier if its engines were destroyed?

What are your thoughts?

I was thinking maybe they were only crippled. Maybe they still had enough power to limp back, but I thought it was a good question.

Also: Do covenant ships need to be refueled?

If you notice, the engines are damaged, not destroyed :D.

I suppose. lol. They made it to the Carrier pretty quick though.

Well, the engines were firing, not completely dark. + It is space, so even with engines destroyed it would still be moving. Then they could use thrusters to boost.

My Grandfather was a Desert Ranger, my Father was a Veteran Ranger in the NCR. My father was killed by Caesar's Legion and they took my Brother. It's now my responsibility to uphold the mantle of the Rangers and avenge my Father and find my Brother.

TRACTOR BEAM!!!

No but for real...Thrusters maybe?

the answer to that question is inertia, take out the engines and the ship won't just stop, it will continue to travel at the velocity it was travelling before the engines were destroyed, that combined with thrusters, assuming the computer can compensate for it (which would guess it can!) should do just nicely.

also the answer to the other question, yes Covenant ships will need refuelled, as will human ships, they both use nuclear fusion as power which requires a material to 'fuse' to generate power, usually Deuterium, Helium, that sort of thing.

They use Tritium as fuel.
And Helium? When is that ever used as fusion fuel? It's a by-product of nuclear fusion.

What?
It said somewhere that the reason that they can glass planets is because they use antimatter reactors instaid of nuclear

so obviously damaging them was a useless idea.

Actually, no. It meant the Corvette couldn't punch engine power up and get to the super-carrier before the team could get onboard.

i think they are fueled with plasma as well.

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

You take out the main Engines, but there are likely secondary engines or something like that.

Also, yes, Covie ships do run on a type of fuel. What that fuel is is unknown, but everything runs of fuel, and fuel always runs out.
