Isn't it funny that we who like ODST can give numerous reasons why we like it, yet those who don't like it are either unwilling or unable to tell us any reasons for their dislike?

It's very amusing!

I honestly can't stop myself from going back to ODST. Seriously. I love sneaking around "Mombassa Streets". I love the way that I can sink into the shadows and decide which battles to fight. I love the tension when a grunt patrol walks inches from me whilst I'm hidden behind a barrier, waiting for them to pass by....

I love ODST!

  • 06.03.2011 10:21 AM PDT

Sorry wha? Was too busy playing ODST.

  • 06.03.2011 10:27 AM PDT

ODST is not for little girls like you so maybe that's why you don't like it.
ODST is epic because:
-Awesome Campaign and Graphics
-Complete Halo 3 MP
-The most epic characters
-Mombasa streets
-Sadie
-Not being as a spartan
-The best version of Firefight
-ODSTs point of view of Halo
-Wandering around searching for clues
If you can't provide a reason why you don't like ODST don't bother posting a thread. Troll better.

I loved ODST because:

1: It was a new take on the Halo experience, and was pulled off with 100% perfection.

2: It shows that Bungie have what it takes to take the magic from one type of game, and completely transform it to a different playing style, and still re-capture that magic.

3: The characters were memorable, and the storyline was epic, and the looming sense of hopelessness had me tense all through my time walking through the streets.

4: It included references to the original Halo story all through the game e.g. the 'Remember Reach' written on walls, the first cut scene where you see Halo 2 from another point of view, and the legendary ending with Johnson and the Prophet of Truth.

What the hell is not to like about Halo 3: ODST?

dissagree halo 2 is the best

Yes, it is just an expansion.
And I love the Rookie, he's so awesome. In my opinion he is like Noble Six, you can customize their armour and see them in the cutscenes.

And John doesn't have much of a personality. He's just the "strong and silent" type, for some reason although he is one of the only Spartans, the Rookie seems as if he is more lonelier.

come on, whoever likes halo has to like odst. It's one of the rare occasions where u don't play as a spartan and brings back a bit of halo ce where u have to look for health packs

What is terrible about it though? Is it because it doesn't have online Matchmaking, is the story bad? You can't just say it's terrible without reason.

This is a Reach account that I created the day they announced his name in a bnet weekly update. Any stats regarding ODST or Halo 3 are irrelevant. Also, Halo CE master race. Halo 1 > other halo games > other games.

Account Status: Silver :(

Cool storyline and campaign that allowed for free roaming the streets without having to glitch. Finding the audiofiles is also pretty cool since you get to hear a second story by exploring.

Firefight was intense, revolutionary and had an arcade feel to it.

No BR, but introduced silenced and fast firing pistols/SMGs with scope.

Resembled Halo 3 and even improved graphics. Those that loved Halo 3 got the entire multiplayer experience.

I love ODST. It made the BR forgettable and that is a win alone.

I agree. I did not like ODST either. I played through it about 6 months ago. I felt like it was just more of the same. Halo 1 and 2 were great (Didn't enjoy Halo 3 campaign either).

The first two Halos offered intriguing stories and innovative gameplay. I just see ODST as an extension of Halo 3, and I wasn't too enthused with Halo 3 to begin with. ODST is not bringing anything new to table gameplay wise. The most fun I had with that game is the first level where you drop from the ship in your drop pod and then you have to click the buttons to get out of the pod once it lands. I thought it would give a unique perspective to the halo universe, but it didn't. It's just more of the same. Even though I was just an average joe, I still played the game like I was a Spartan. Except now all the cool parts were taken away: no Cortana, no personality from the main character I was playing as, and no memorable story. I just remember tracking down my dead squad mates to see how they died. When I finally did see how they died, I could care less. I didn't feel any connections to the characters. Also, there was some bull-blam!- about the last two surviving people in your squad falling in love with each other.

Some other things I didn't care for were:
-Running around the the city just to get from one level to the next.
-No Elites to fight
-Brutes are boring to fight. The only time I enjoyed fighting Brutes was in Halo 2, when they weren't wearing that stupid armor
-Collecting health
-The new enemies: Engineers. I guess they're supposed to make combat harder, but I just don't think they fit in
-Firefight is not that great. I'd rather play infection on a custom halo 3 or reach map

I haven't played ODST in 6 months because it sucked. But maybe I will play through it again just to make sure it sucks as much as I think it does. I playing through all the halos right now on Lengendary. Maybe I'll get to ODST sometime next week...

Are you stupid? No one in the squad died, they are very much alive.

Don't worry, there are multiple parts to his post which show he doesn't have a clue on what he's talking about.

Obviously you pussed out at played it on normal or easy. Try it on herioc or legendary, it's brutal.

  • 06.04.2011 9:39 AM PDT

i did play it on herioc the first and last time I played. I thought most of the squad died, maybe i am wrong. As i said before, the story wasn't very memorable.
