I don't care if 343 or Bungie say it is. I want to know what you think.

Uhhhhhhhhh, yeah?

Imagine a triangle. It's perfect, but a little plain. You take a chisel, and carve a small decorative symbol into it to make it a little more interesting. People like it, but it could use a little more.

So you then take a sledgehammer..

For the most part yes, though a few things are a little iffy.

Signatures are for squares.

Yes.

All of Legends' canon errors can be chalked down to artistic license.

The only true error is "Ralph 303."

  • 06.01.2011 7:46 PM PDT

It fits into cannon to. (OoO is a JOKE)

  • 06.01.2011 7:47 PM PDT

Only really origins and the babysitter. All the inconsistencies could be said that's it's due to Cortana's rampancy (seeing how it's three years after Halo 3) and the babysitter is ok except for Cal's long hair and the way she talked really personally to the ODST squad.

Yes I do. I do not take the manner in which things are visualised too seriously.

Yes, except Odd one out. If there are any mistakes, they will be taken care of. Also, the ruins in babysitter? They look human right? Well I think it's safe to assume that it's because they're human.

On a side note.

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

What reason is there not to?

Yes.

This.

Also: many other "flaws" as they were called from the start have been given backing from the books.

Take the Elite culture for instance. Very Japanese inspired, but the real fans already knew that because Bungie told us so. Furthermore: Cole Protocol backed the whole idea of how they live a fairly simple, non-heavy on Forerunner/Covie tech life. How they dress, how they behave etc.
Even then there are some artistic licensing elements that don't quite fit but that is always the case in any series. Hell: Chiefs MK VI armor even looks different in H3 compared to H2...

Or take the "Japanese" buildings in The Babysitter. Who says they are Forerunner? After Cryptum chances are that these are simply ancient pre-"human" buildings. And actually: the sizes of the brutes compared to the humans might be exagerated, but are closer to how its described in the books than it is portrayed in the games (Brutes are supposed to be 3 meter tall monsters).

Cloaked UNSC ships? From the top of my head I can seem to remember one of the books mentioning the UNSC having cloacked ships....Fall of Reach I believe....

Halsey: yep, that one is pretty stupid even with creative licensing in mind. Should have looked older. No excuse for that.

pre-MJOLNIR power suit: again, take away the creative license (the over the top Japanese fireworks show) and you have a thing that has been described in Fall of Reach and Halseys Journal.

So apart from it being canon, simply because it is (except for Odd One Out), many of its "flaws" are actually not flaws and can be traced back to the books or got back up from the books afterwarths....

In memory of those fallen in the defense of Earth and her colonies.

March 3, 2553

Some of it. But not being racist or anything i hate it how they made it look so Asian in design.

Its like the whole Halo universe is Asia, it makes me so angry.

I guess you are Erickyboo on Waypoint then.

  • 06.02.2011 7:30 AM PDT

No, except for Origins, I do not consider it cannon. The one I consider the least cannon is probably The Duel. I mean, seriously? Since when were Elites just Japanese people in different bodies? Not to be racist or anything, but thats retarded. I consider Odd One Out to be more cannon than that.

Not to mention The Babysitter. Ugh. SOOOOO freaking cliche with the stupid anime Spartan girl thing at the end.

The only one I even remotely liked was The Package, and they even managed to screw that up.

I think Legends is a huge slap in the face to Halo. It makes Cryptum look like the best book ever. And that says something.

Of course, this is all just my opinion.

  • 06.02.2011 10:26 AM PDT

I don't accept anything that isn't the four games.

  • 06.02.2011 10:27 AM PDT

Please, no hurt! Me like Elites. Brutes stinky bad bad. Me stay here, make sure no Brutes come behind mighty Arbiter. Heh, heh... Eh?

Yes,I Accept that it is canon.
Do you accept that Halo reach is canon?

But i hate that Halsey is so young in the package x/ That is so stupid,In that moment,She is 52 or something like that.
And the spartans of blue teams armor O.o
.....

Like I said before: go and read Cole Protocol. Elites are like that. Also: Bungie always have said that Elites are based on Samurai culture...

Not to mention The Babysitter. Ugh. SOOOOO freaking cliche with the stupid anime Spartan girl thing at the end.

So you don't like it equals something being canon or not? Thats like saying "I don't like slavery being part of our history, so I don't consider it to be our history"...
Again: Cryptum backs this up quite a lot.

The only one I even remotely liked was The Package, and they even managed to screw that up.

Opinion. Only thing truely wrong about that episode is the way Halsey is portrayed WAY younger than she should be. Other than that: pretty much follows canon-lines.

I think Legends is a huge slap in the face to Halo. It makes Cryptum look like the best book ever. And that says something.

Of course, this is all just my opinion.

Legends is a great expansion to the series, and Cryptum is one of the best books in the series...
Opinion.

Anyways: you're reasons for not considering it canon don't hold. So you don't have any valid reasons to not consider it canon, sorry.

I say again, Halo legends is canon [except odd one out], errors will be fixed, what is fact is fact.
