well this area might have the smartest and most mature members of bungie but you guys seriously are ruining the septagon now, almost every single thread in here is about the kids in new mombasa and what -blam!- theyre posting, well youre not doing any better then they are when you make a million threads about it, we all know about the problem and unfortunately we cant do aything about it, pointing it out over and over again isnt going to solve the problem so find something new to do for gods sake,....... lets get another contest or sumthing in here,.......

i know that some people are gonna say that i am part of it by making this post that is -blam!-ing about you guys but this is the only way i can get you to see whats really happening..............

hehe not visiting this site for a while got me thinkin that the septagon is the seventh column :p

This is the forum for community issues, and the problem of New Mombasa is one of the biggest around. It needs to be discussed.

A million threads is a litlle ambitious-Try four or five. If you don't like discussing it, don't click on it. Grow up a little, and see the bigger picture.

You don't know "millions" of threads until you try and lend a hand on the 24th to help with ILB spam problems... this is nothing, and it's all actually needed to get the point across.

NABIUL, look around the Septagon. Every unlocked thread is mature and smart. Compare this to New Mombasa. Almost every thread in there is spam, full of flaming, or repetitive. New Mombasa is getting to be a big problem, and it needs to be dealt with. When we have fulfilled that task, then, and only then, can we stop.

This is also the safest forum - the locked threads are generally just pure crap or in the wrong forum.

You can't tell others how to run this place, if discussing New Mombasa is what we want, then discussing New Mombasa is what we shall do.

I think we all know how this thread will pan out- All the Septagonians will come here to tell Nabiul how wrong he is.

Edit-Oooops, spelt his name wrong

Okay, let's be reasonable. There are not a 'million' threads in The Septagon. In case you have forgotten, The Septagon is a forum for those who want to try and improve B.net, and I see only about four threads pertaining to New Mombasa. All of these threads contain, accurate, proof read, well thought out posts, from members who are trying to help. I do not see a single thread that is simply full of flaming the users of New Mombasa.

we all know about the problem and unfortunately we cant do anything about it, pointing it out over and over again isn’t going to solve the problem so find something new to do for gods sake,

Yes, all of the people who post in The Septagon are aware of the problems of New Mombasa. Where I disagree with you is when you state that there is nothing we can do about it and discussing solutions "isnt going to solve the problem." I, and the other users who've posted suggestions and ideas, think that we can help New Mombasa, and discussing the best plan of action is a useful and logical step.

lets get another contest or sumthing in here,.......

I really do not believe that would be using The Septagon to it's full potential. The point of The Septagon isn't to be a fun place to discuss world events, or Halo, or Marathon. Or start a 'contest.' The Septagon can be put to much more useful ambitions.

know that some people are gonna say that i am part of it by making this post that is -blam!-ing about you guys but this is the only way i can get you to see whats really happening..............

I still don't share your view on "whats really happening.............." I think that the only effective way to deal with the problem is to analyze it, and solve it.

May I also ask what you would rather have The Septagon be used for? The last quotation seems to be rather sermonizing, as if we are blind to our ways and should immediately change. It seems to me like you want The Septagon to be used for something completely different, or perhaps you don't understand it's purpose.

I ask the same question. If there is a problem we discuss it. If the problem is New Mombasa we discuss it.

See forum description: The Septagon
7th Column and Bungie Community

Vella is entirely correct in that post. The forum purpose is clear, and will not be changed, regardless of what you think--and if you don't understand, let this be the final explanation.

*sigh*, i saw you guys discussing it the last time i was here ( a while back), and youre still discussing it, what does that tell you?,. yes i over exadurated on a million threads but its based on how long you guys have been talking about this, obviously pointing it out to you isnt going to solve anything so continue if you must and all the while become little kids like the ones in new mombasa...............

Well, I would say that things require time. No solution will instantaneously appear and solve such a large problem. I personally believe that the idea of submitting a news story with instructions and such, which is in the works, is a great idea. The talking will continue until it is fixed, and as I stated a short while ago, there is no magic fairy dust of getting rid of spammers and flamers +1.

actually, we have been talking about soloutions to the problem. a real soloution takes time to develop. simply don't participate in these threads if you do not like them. that is all.

As far I'm concerned, this is reasoned, well thought out discusion in and of itself. Here some people see Septagonists becoming kiddies fresh out of preschool, but I see the thing that fundamentally separates Septagonists from our friends in New Mombasa. In NM, if there is a disagreement then there is a flame war. Here, everyone gives a rational, well thought out arguement and people attack the ideas, not the person. It is a debate. A healthy, good thing to do every so often. Enough of my rant.

From what I can see, while we may have four threads that deal with the situation in NM each thread focuses in a different area. It specializes, so to speak. This, in my opinion, makes for cleaner, easier forum use, instead of lumping all the topics into one big thread.
