I canceled my Xbox Live Gamertag. RIP TurboCircuits, 2002-2005.
I'm a noob? Funny, I have 1,105 hours of Halo 2 played.

Didn't bother reading everything, but if you want 60 fps, play it on a 360. Plus, no it will not be on PC because they are most likely working on Halo 3, so I do not think they give a damn about porting.

Tooth,

To be honest, when I started reading this thread, I thought i was going to end up reminding you that SketchFactor had already posted about this. However, you did an excellent job reading up on the facts and making some pretty cogent inferences. I'd like to think Bungie would make H2PC, but I honestly don't know if I'll fully be able to believe until I see it on the shelf in Wal-mart.

Good thread, Tooth.

Sincerely,

i hate to break the niceness of this thread (yay! intelligent life!) but its nothing i or anyone else havent posted in years past.

this stuff would be nice... but dont count on it. as for the ending... dont expect a different ending in h2pc... it wouldnt be the same game if it had a different ending. besides, for a different ending, they would have to program new animations, rehire the voice actors, etc. way too much effort just for a port.

I agree with Inspire... I already had my answer when I opened this thread, but I was (positively) surprised by it.

I am still sceptic about H2PC, but the more I read on the subject, the more I believe that it could actually be happening now.

All I say is: cross 'em

You don't get 60fps on the 360 dumbass, it's the same sometimes less than the original system.

AND WhY do people keep making halo 2 pc topics!! It's so damn annoying the only reason I click them is to see how much work someone puts into typing it out while most people are out having a fun life.

Nice to see you back aM Inspire, for the people who don't know, this bloke is a legend...

Yeah, a load of Havoc has been going down on alot of sites saying that Halo 2 is coming to PC because of the sudden PC development and PC developers. Any my veiw is that i knew from the ever first place that Bungie were going to release Halo 2 PC. Because wouldn't it just be silly?? I think very much so. I i also had an idea that it was 'gunna come out is because Bungie never said no, the people did. If you read the thread, Sketch says that "these plans may change in the future"...

I would very much like to see an h2pc real soon. However there are a few things you probably hadn't considered when you wrote this post:

The most we can expect, MOST, is a graphical upgrade. We will probably not get that, as they would have to redo alot of stuff, as some one put it, just for a port. I personaly don't think 64 players in a halo map would be very fun.

They aren't going to redo the engine just for a port. That means you won't see destructable environments, or hdr lighting amongst other things.

I, and alot of others, won't pay for an update like maps for a game on pc. There has to be something else worthwile for my $20. An expansion pack with more single player levels or something like that, something with alot of content, might be worth $20, but not just maps.

This is all exactly what everyone else on these boards has posted over and over. We get it Bungie should consider making halo 2 for pc but havent anyof you read the sticky on bungies stance on halo 2 for the pc. And on the idea of inhanced graphics itll depend on the computer.

I'm not accusing anyone of anything when I say this, but I am going to say it.

If you're going to reply to a thread, at least take the time to read it. Don't offer us a logically flawed response.

Here is a lesson in what is called the straw-man fallacy of logic. The straw-man fallacy is committed when you unjustly diminish an arguement for reasons other than the points it makes. The idea is that instead of debating the point at hand, you put words into your oppositions' mouth and make their arguement weaker so that you can knock it down.

Now, for a lesson in etiquette. Insults are recursive. This means that insults only bring more insults; they are not productive in any manner.

With that in mind, I'd like to make it clear that you cannot achieve 60 fps on an xbox because televisions are set to only display 30 fps.

As for what a port would look like, I honestly think a pure conversion of H2 would look good on a PC. But, seeing as how the engine changed from H1 to H2, I would be interested to see how they would implement a new physics engine.

What makes you think they haven't already finished the ending? I'm not saying if a Halo 2 port to the PC were to be made it would be included in it. But I would at least expect something extra in the PC version. After all, wasn't Halo PC basically Halo 1.5 to the Halo console version?

Well with all this arguing about Halo 2 PC, we've gone and woken aM Inspire up. :)

Halo 2 PC may be a curse if it comes out. It will suck all the players out of Halo PC multiplayer condemning that to death. A lot of people didn't like the weapon balance in Halo 2 and the little that I played it just didn't "feel" right. And if they "dump a port and then don't support" no thanks.

We might see graphical changes and options, you just don't know really what go's down in Bungie...

And yes... for the one's who like to bring to down the mood of these forums and want to go off-topic, then i suggest that you can reply in another topic, if you don't want to be a part of it then don't reply. If you do go ahead and reply in the way that you do, do it politely...

O...K? why on earth would you guys think halo 2 would come out on pc? for one thing if they were it would of come out ages ago what halo 2 came out what a year ago ?one of the reasons halo combat evolved came out for pc was that they didn't put the only for xbox tag at the top and it didn't come out for pc and xbox at the same time i mean have you ever seen a game come out for another gaming system when it has "only for ???" at the top halo 2 coming out for pc has as good as a chance as mario coming to xbox oh yeah if you can name one game that has come out for another system when already had "only for" at the top like halo 2 has let me know and i will be suprised go check your halo 2 box right now and you will see it says only for xbox at the top THAT MEANS only for xbox, one other thing i dont even think some people that say they had halo 2 on xbox live have had it i think its just ps2 lovers wanting it to come to pc because everyones got a pc who doesn't?

With everything I have heard lately, mainly from what node hinted to after his work with the ff on the Bungie server's, I think we have a good chance.

We can only hope.

Good job Tooth on writing this thread. Normally I don't pay much attention to these H2 thread's, but I think your on to something.

Well done.
