Subject: What happens if you get hit by a Halo array?

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

Well the vaporize part doesn't happen. I guess that everybody drops dead.

Now another question: How long after the Array was fired were the creatures on the Ark transported back to their planets? As far as I can tell, the Array would have left a lot of dead whales and fish floating in the ocean which would be a breeding ground for diseases.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

vaporization does happen seeing how that is the only way the body would be useless to the flood.

and terminal 6 says

"[00:H 00:M 00:S] The [Halo effect] strikes our combined fleets. All ships piloted by biologicals are now [adrift]."

you read it wrong.

Don't know why it calls me rubuilt gymnast 7, it's really UNSC595 in case you were wondering and I have played all of those games online

I think it would be either vaporization because no Forerunner bodies were found or just a little zap and your body falls down dead.

I always imagined it as you just drop dead.

Yes I'm fairly young. No, that doesn't mean I'm automatically dumber than you or have less life experience, thats just generally the case. I am not your general case.

When activated, the Halo rings would wipe out all sentient life within three radii of the Milky Way's center by sending a burst of cross-phased supermassive neutrinos. This burst of super-massive neutrinos is carefully tuned to possess a harmonic frequency, which destroys the nervous system of any macroscopic organism that possesses one, even one as rudimentary as a notochord, as shown in the aftermath of a low-powered test firing of a Halo performed by the Master Builder on the San 'Shyuum world of Faun Hakkor.
This pulse is propelled across the Halo Array's full radius at superluminal speeds, covering that area and cleansing it of all affected life, though simpler life forms that do not possess a neural system, such as microbes, fungi, algae, mosses, and traditional plants are unaffected.

I read Cryptum. But if I were to watch an individual who just go hit by the Array, what would happen to them?

I'm pretty sure they just drop dead. I don't count Origins, too much artistic licenses makes me wish it never happed. Don't get me wrong, some had good story and all, but they changed too much for the sake of art.

Problem with dropping dead: Flood can still take your body. So just killing all sentient life like that results in the Flood having a feast while there is nobody to stop them.
Flood could then just collect bodies and grow bigger and bigger.

Vaporization means there is absolutely nothing left of the bodies of the dead = no more "food" for the Flood = deathblow to the Flood.

Also: This somewhat affects Flood bodies too. They too are vaporized. Evolutions might have a lot of creative twists and all, but it does clearly show Flood vaporizing. Even taking creative licensing in account, our knowledge of the Halos would also indicate that they are also build to kill off any bodies consumed by the Flood.

Seeing how the Flood survived from outside the Galaxy, that plan succeeded. I suppose the effect doesn't apply to Flood Spores however....

My jokes, so I don't lose them (ignore this):
ZedFish's Opinion on Sgt. Foley.
ZedFish's Forerunner Rickroll.

I'd say it just fries the synapses in your brain.

You could say...
*sunglasses*
...it blows your mind.

Wait doesn't the flood hack into the nerv sysytem of it's host? If that nerv sysytem was to be heavily damaged or destroyed by halo, the flood might not be able to infect
the host?

The same reason why flood can't infect hunters, they don't have a nerv system...

If you get hit by one? You get squashed.
