"Concise and devoid of elegance...what I have come to expect from human communication"-Endless Summer

We consider the "sub-races" of humans "people".Would Elites be treated as "people" after the war? Not immediately,no but eventually? And by people I mean treated equal to humans?

Online Gaming's pretty much like a zombie movie. There are a lot of mindless idiots roaming around but you find some survivors on the way.

No I dont think the majority of humans will ever accept elites into their society. They teamed up during the war to survive, that doesnt necessarily mean their best friends now. Their might be some small groups of humans and elites that will come together but I dont think they will ever be treated as "people".

Well, the elites were worshipping the forerunners for ages. Now they know that the forerunners chose humanity to take up the mantle of protecting the galaxy (they already have...twice at this point...) but the point is, all that forerunner technology, heck, the halo rings themselves...belong to humanity.

It's going to take a couple centuries for the humans to fully pick up on this, but if the elites should be "worshipping" anyone, it should be the humans.

I forsee them getting along eventually.

Objectively speaking, they are people.

Eventually, yes.

My name is Legion, for we are many.

1. Humans in general are insensitive, quick to stereotype, and racist.

2. Elites fought against humans from 2525 to 2552, which was about 27 years. They just seceded from the Covenant in the last year of the war.

So no, it's very unlikely that humans will consider Elites a species to coexist with. Allies, maybe, but not friends.

It takes a real man to back down from a fight, but it takes a spartan to finish it!

I think once the humans reach the their former tech tier from back during the Forerunner-Human war the elites and the rest of those former covenant will worship them.

Technically it does. A person by definition is a human being. So Elites CANT be people. However that does mean they can't be treated like "people" or given rights.

there wasn't ever a war between the Forerunners and the Humans, the humans were still very primitive when the Forerunners activated the rings

Yeah I think so. After the war Elites and Humans got to know each other. They fought together during the war so they are basically allies now (although I'm sure there will still be some grudges though for that whole glassing the entire planet of Reach thing plus the attack on Earth and stuff).

Read Halo: Cryptum. It's basically a retcon.

elites and humans will become allies and may coexist to a certain degree but humans will probably never forget all the damage they caused also many of the former covy species would probably become allies with humans ex. jackals are traders and as history can show humans are always looking for good trades and ways to make money grunts would probably worship us just so we dont send a Demon for them

there WAS a forerunner-human war, before the discovery of the flood. the humans rebelled against the galactic rule of the forerunners, but lost, so the forerunners basically devolved the humans into a primitive state as punishment.

question everything...truth has no pedigree

I think it largely depends on what the Elites do once the dust settles from the war.

If they do the right thing, admit their mistakes and help humanity rebuild, then I think they could become very good friends. Basically the Elites need to earn the humans' trust.

If they don't do that there will always be conflict.

They should improve their relationship with each other.

deep philosophy, We do not know if "people" can include other species, but I like to assume that the term refers to sentient species, so yes in my opinion.

  • 06.05.2011 2:45 PM PDT

As generations who lived through the war begin to die off, the war will seem more and more unreal to people. But how heavily the elites are accepted into human society would depend completely on what they did in the years after the war.

  • 06.05.2011 2:46 PM PDT

They have a huge opportunity for an awesome society. With their combined strengths, they could easily re-instate all that Forerunner tech and put it to good use.

I doubt they'll get along, though. They may just ignore eachother for as long as they can.

yet.

Dolphins are considered "people" by many.

Elites? certainly.

What has this got to do with being considered a person?

Well most of them went back to Sanghelios and probably would be a rare sight on Earth but I think eventually they would after humans get over the whole genocide thing.
