Subject: Should Noble Six have died differently?

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.

Can you think of any ways that Six could have died that differs from Reach? I imagine something explosion related

He is given a Longsword and defends the POA from wave after wave of ships in space, just like how the ending was supposed to be before it was cut. The famed return to space.

Was thinking more like an Epic showdown with Rtas Vadum....would have been such a good way to finish the game.

Actually that would have been amazing. He is piloting one of the Longswords u see at the beginning of CE. A game could have been made where he is on 04. He of course could not be seen with MC. He later escapes 04'in the same longsword and is rescued by the War Horse before it leaves the system

I personally like the way it ended. The point of reach was that it was a major loss, not that everyone important made it out alive. he went out fighting the good fight and died for a greater cause. No other way for a Spartan to go imo.

i like the way it ended it truely showed how tough he was even with damaged armour and plasma burns he killed some of the elites and the ones he didnt kill he gave a good punch

Imagine a triangle. It's perfect, but a little plain. You take a chisel, and carve a small decorative symbol into it to make it a little more interesting. People like it, but it could use a little more.

So you then take a sledgehammer..

Really?

Wow, space combat and no retcons.

Why didn't you do this Bungie?!

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

The best way for Six to die would be in the pre-development process.

Don't know why it calls me rubuilt gymnast 7, it's really UNSC595 in case you were wondering and I have played all of those games online

I think he died pretty awesomely, he went out with a fight and when he was firing the pistol and the assault rifle at the same time, epic. The ending also showed a ferocity to the Covenant that hasn't really been seen before in a Halo game.

I didn't mean it as fight on Installation 04, more of protecting the POA for a slipspace jump, it jumps, you are left to fight on your own, basically lone wolf in space with a whole war going on in the background.

Spartan IIIs had an extra augmentation that kept them alive after they should be physically dead, for a short while.

I'm sure bungie took that in to mind when they decided a spartan with no shields and no helmet was getting shot full of plasma.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Yup, the final mission should have involved you piloting a Pelican back to the Sabre Launch Facility whilst Carter and Emile hold off the Banshees. Then the Pelican gets -blam!- down and you have to walk on foot, you reach the facility but it has to take a while powering up.

The Covenant patrols spot you and start charging en masse. Then the facility is activated again and there's only 1 Sabre left, Carter elects to stay behind and fight the Covenant and we go to a badass little scene where he fights them but is slain by the Field Marshall from Visegrad and New Alexandria. He looks up at the sky and sees the Sabre, off-camera he orders a pick up and appears later.

You fly up to the Autumn, deliver Cortana (though the way I'd have had The Package would be Halsey ordering Noble Team to rescue her from the Covenant so she can get to CASTLE - akin to escorting Keyes in CE), then some Covie ships arrive and you have to hold them off so Keyes can jump to Halo as the slipspace drive builds up.

The Autumn jumps away and Holland orders you and Emile to his orbital platform where the Covenant is attacking. Holland has to be protected but dies, the Field Marshall got a Seraph and tracked Noble Team to the station where he kills Emile, then Six flees and takes the elevator back down to the planet as the hangar is destroyed and a Covenant ship is about to destroy it. The Field Marshall follows and then Lone Wolf occurs normally.

Nope, only Gsmma had those augmentations. Six was from Beta (he was pulled out TORPEDO) so it's another "oversight".

I think that's a great idea. I like the part where you meet Holland. Wish he was physically in the game.

I think that for the last level of Reach, you should have escorted Keyes to the Pelican who was overseeing the delivery of the Master Chief in a double-booth Cryo-Tube to the POA. You have to fight your way to the Pelican and as they are loading the cryo-tubes, they get ambushed by high ranking elites with energy swords.

Noble six manages to kill all of them, but as he gets the last one, a cut-scene is triggered where Noble six gets seriously injured. They just so happen to have to have a spare slot in the double cyro tube, and they put Noble Six in alongside the Master Chief.

In Halo CE in co-op mode, no prizes for who player two is?

  • 06.05.2011 7:50 AM PDT

I don't really care how you got to the last mission, but all I know is it should of went something like this. August 30th 20:00 hours. Six is alone and the cutscene begins normal but the map has covenant ships in the distance and more armor support. Noble six begins fighting off the first few waves of covenant forces nothing big. Grunts, elite minors, etc. (The game would have a different ending for however far you got and what you did). Basically if you get far enough and manage to highjack a wraith or banishee you have a different ending of you fight of covenant after covenant until your wraith is destroyed and you have to kick open the hatch and fight off elites. The catch is you wounded so in first person you cannot move and just aim.

Every ending would be different and would show just how you as a spartan would want to go out. If you survive past twenty minutes in the wraith it gives you a different ending than if you survived in the wraith for five. If you go out to fight the covenant on open space with them having armor support your ending might be like you using a rocket launcher to kill many covenant armor and infantry.

All of the endings would be different and the game should give you a chance to last up to however you want if you are skilled enough. The level would contain many secret goods like maybe a scorpion tank hidden by debree or etc. These goodies would trigger those different endings along with however long you lasted. If you do fight for a long period of time you will see the crusors begin to converge on you. Over a dead communications tower you pick up covenant chatter and your armor translates it sayig that 3 cruisers are converging on your position.

Thats my two cents, they let you customize your spartan but a customizable death with your spartan would also be badass.

Six getting shot down in a Saber in orbit over Reach while covering the POA, and crashlanding on Reach.

Why sod he have to be in cryo? That's canon breaking. I do like the idea of six going up into space on the last mission. Though I would have liked it if his sabre was so messed up that he flew it into the bridge of of a covie ship. Though if he got shot down then the last scene before the credits should be his saber burning up in the atmosphere. After the credits u see the sabre craters on reach with the helmet nearby

I agree, Also In Noble Actual, Carter told him to "Drop the Lone Wofl stuff".

Fun fact, in Winter Contingency when the Zealot strike team attacks,a zealot ALMOST executed Six, pulling his energy blade out to finish Noble Six who had been caught off guard. But Carter saved him, shooting the Zealot off of Six. When the Zealot executes six in Lone Wolf, I think its a ghostly echo of the fact that cCarter originally saved Six, and that Six was told to change from a Lone Wolf...

Six blocked the sword with his fist and then punched the zealot. Carter just managed to kick the elite off but it seemed like a stalemate between six and the zealot

Yes, but Six is a Spartan III who was caught off guard by an Elite Zealot, those arent good odds to Six.

  • 06.05.2011 1:25 PM PDT

Six was more than good enough to beat that zealot. Six punched it and still had an arm free. He could have taken out the zealot easily I mean in piller of atom he takes out a whole team of them by himself.
