I've always been a huge Halo fan, plenty of hours (cumulative days) put into each game, until ODST and Halo: Reach came out. The graphics and all of the features are the most impressive I've ever seen in a console game (aside from selling out and getting loadouts), and I was so happy to have it until I actually got to play it. The gameplay mechanics in that are so completely ruined. It was too busy trying to be a Halo sequel that would get sold instead of a game that is worth playing. It got me to buy it - but I sold it after a month of trying to enjoy it.
Call of Duty is still fun but I sold all of my CoD games for that stupid Black Ops, which I broke over the trashcan and tossed it in. I went and grabbed a copy of ODST for the complete H3 multiplayer, and it's as fun as the day I bought it, although much less exciting.
I was going through my music and started listening to the Halo 2 soundtrack, and remember the production put into Halo 2. My hopes are still high for Halo 4, they're going to need to make a serious comeback, and they've got all the resources to make another amazing game, I've just got to pray that they learn what makes a decent story mode like H2, and remember what makes Halo so fun.
So how are you guys holding out?
