Remember when the Recon armour was a thing of legend? People tried so hard to get it (eg creating machinimas or asking Bungie)
And whenever someone showed up in a match wearing the armour every player was like "OH MA GODZ! HE HAZ RECONZ!!!!!"

because social slayer does not have 100,000 plus players in it, it maybe peaks at 5,000 if your lucky.. social skirmish/mythic/mlg/snipers all have less than 1000 for the most part... the good old days were 300,000 plus total players playing halo 3, not less than 30k

All it took was a stew of whoopass.

Those weren't the "good ol' days". That's nostalgia. Nostalgia of something not quite gone yet.

The sentence "can I haz reconz" still has horrible effects on my brain. It was cool seeing someone with Recon once in a blue moon though.

That was never the good ol days because it always started arguements like "Hey you don't deserve that armour" and just ignorant things like that I think it doesn't matter if you have recon or the armour bungie gives you,you don't even get too see your character as you play so what's with people obsessed with what they look like!

I remember the good old days of lines at the Pac Man machine, when people would place their quarter on the screen to reserve their place. And I recall the good old days when Halo had the best graphics ever seen in gaming. That old and good enough ? The avatar thing seems new and cool now, but it will become standard. So totally standard, no one will even remotely consider it in five years.

I remember when you shot your weapon, and the reticule would remain the same size, but now I guess luck > skill.

So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

Those days were the best.
