Subject: New Halo material? Proof in this vid?

If you can read this, that means I'm not a Shaolin monk...

Earth/Amber Clad marines, it would seem.

Hm... Halo 2 marine for sure.

I have to say that looks really familiar, but I cannot place it at all.

Signatures are for squares.

There's already a thread on this...

Anyway, I made a clip of the animation. It's poorer quality but whatever. You can see it here.

I looked to see if there was one, but found nothing. Oh well.

Im guessing its from the level in H2 the Sacred Icon where you fight those shield sentinels. But the graphics with the blood is almost reach or better. Im wondering couild Halo HD mean HCE and H2?

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

If that is their graphics engine, I'm not too impressed. Looks like the old Fallout cutscenes.

It might not be dose anyone have the limited edition of H2 this might be one of the deleted scenes?

For everything remains, AS IT NEVER WAS."

Everyone saying that it's from Halo 2 from the armor, or Halo: HD from the graphics;

Did anyone stop to think that in the Halo: CE remake they're using Halo 2 era armor for the Marines, and that it's a lower quality animation for the Halo: CE remake, not the final product?

We were somewhere around Barstow...

Isn't that from Halo 3?

I completly agree with you i mean judgeing from the backround he's in it seems to be a test. Its just that the walls also reminded me of H2.

I'm pretty sure that's just some Halo 3 marine getting Floodified.

Go to a level with both Marines and Flood and watch, you should be able to see something like that happen.

Not with that quality. This is polished. Maybe Cutscene material.
Maybe.

Has anyone considered it's just a fan-made concept of a polished-up Floodification?

Why would the PoA marines have Amber Clad armour?

@ all the folks who thinks it's from a previous game: It's not.

Really i honest to god thought it was from the H2 level the flood. I also dont think its a test or beta run of the flood since 343'[s videos all seem to be that of gameplay. Could it possibly be a halo legends scene?

Armor is not determined by ship. Why - in that train of thought - did the Marines in New Mombasa (who didn't get on the In Amber Clad) have "Amber Clad armor"?

You're a mod, you should be used to that.

I remember something like this on i the mission "flood gates" or something close to that name in halo 3..... When the flood pops out of the ceiling and infects him.

I know what your talking about but the room the marine is in looks diffrent also there is only one spore and in h3 there are several.

I couldn't stand the Halo 2 era Marine armour...the original Halo CE armour was the best in my humble opinion.

  • 06.06.2011 12:04 AM PDT

Honestly it looks like a custom animation. It's really really shiny looking and the wall looks terrible. So I doubt it's from the Halo CE remake if it is coming out.

they are saying it's an early showing of the gaming engine, not fully polished and touched up.

It doesn't appear to be a custom animation. As I've posted in another thread on the same topic the animation itself appears to be roughly the same as the ones used for Halo 3 transformation judging from this and this. The aesthetics themselves appear to be from Halo 2 era marines.

So combined we are looking at what appears to be a melding of Halo 3 animations + Halo 2 assets under a new context. One apparently officially sanctioned by 343i considering it was used for vid. Possibly a hint for something to come? Wouldn't be surprising considering that's how they chose to ween out information on the defiant map pack.
