I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

There has been a strange forerunner symbol that has been in every Halo game (yes including Reach, unsure about Wars.)
It can't stand for Shield World as it appears on Halo installations along with The Ark. It also appears behind a Monitor's "eye" and on the top of its "head."
The symbol could represent Forerunner.
What do you guys think?

I believe it has something to do with the Didact or the Librarian. (I'm not sure though)

Other than that I think it might represent the Forerunner race as a whole in some way.

ive seen it to ive honestly never paid to much attetion to the symbols except if i know who it represents ex. librian symbol
since this symbol appears so often i think it might just be some kind of technical symbol

"Concise and devoid of elegance...what I have come to expect from human communication"-Endless Summer

It could represent the Array itself,or Forerunner Constructs in general.

Where is it in Reach?

It is obvious it if Forerunner. You know it, we know it - but you thought you would create another pointless thread.

What next - "do you think Halo: CE is a story about a ring shaped world containing a genocidal organism ?"

Boosting in games is sad, but trying to boost a status bar is worse !

On topic- yes it is.

How can i put "you're an idiot" nicely?

He means, can the symbol itself represent forerunner tech/everything. Like if humanity came up with a symbol to represent we made it.

Simply you can't, although you can try a compli-sult. It is pretty much one of their more prominent signs When you see it you think of Forerunners, so yes it is a token part of their image. Its like asking if the UNSC flag represents the UNSC.

is that not the symbol used on most of the holo-switches in halo 3? if so most likely "activate"

  • 06.06.2011 1:33 AM PDT

Im not sure where i've heard this but isn't it similar to the Marathon symbol?? Might be a reference to that and Bunjie have just used it as the symbol for Forerunner's

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

It is most likely the symbol for their race, thought it could have multiple meanings for us.
