Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

What resolution are you running the game at? Certain resolutions, specifically user-defined resolutions (those set using vidmode or in an ini) or resolutions above a certain point won't show the text box correctly.

can ou tell me how to do this or point me to a video please.

Something smells fishy...

I've had your problem before. It's usually a resolution issue.
Do you have the game set to your monitor's native resolution? For me having the game set to my monitor's native resolution usually display all the texts properly.

Just make sure that your monitor's native resolution is supported by Halo Combat Evolved/Custom Edition PC.

Currently I'm using a monitor that is 1920x1080P which is not a supported resolution for Halo Combat Evolved PC. But with the in game resolution set to 1600x900 I can see all texts.

You mean to figure out your monitor's max/native resolution?

Well, with Windows 7 you just have to right click the desktop/select screen resolution. Then navigate to the resolution drop down menu and select your monitor's native resolution.

You should also check to see if your monitor is plug and play or if it requires a driver. Your monitor's manufacturer's website should have the driver for your model available for download.

You could refer to the manual or go to your monitor's manufacturer's website to check to see what the max resolution is for your monitor.

Also, is this a desktop PC or a laptop PC?

its a laptop. and i used to be able to see and chat before. i have windows seven too.

Check to see if you have the latest graphics driver for your laptop's graphics card.

I guess you could try trial and error and run the game in different resolutions.

Btw, what is the max resolution for your laptop's monitor?

Just to make sure: this is not for Halo 2 Vista is it?

You should be able to find the drivers pertaining to your computer at your computer manufacturer's website. Or you could find the appropriate drivers from either the Nvidia or AMD websites. But check your computer manufacturer's website first.

If you want to know whether or not you've already installed the graphics drivers just check the uninstall or change a program section of the control panel. If the drivers are on the installed programs list then you already have the drivers installed.

Hold yer horses.

Barnacle, put your resolution back to 1920x1080!
Gator put yours to your default too.

Go to your halo directory and look for a file called "1200editbox.ksml" open with notepad.
Change "left" to 10. Change "top" to 1035

Fix done.

Infact this is another thing to add to my guide.

It is at 1920x1080. I never had it any other way:)

Oh wait, if you're referring to the video settings in Halo I don't run the game in 1920x1080 resolution because it's not available in the video settings.

If followed my guide, it is possible to run halo in a resolution of your choice.

The textbox does not work with custom widescreen resolutions, if you did what I said above then it will work.
