They said "No purple", that means no Covies.

Enemy is said to be ancient threat, which could mean Precursors or Forerunners.

The thrusters and armor change is weird but its a CG trailer so maybe that's not how it looks in the game.

Also I don't think that was Jen Taylor but I could be wrong.

Where'd you find that info?

I had to change my pants after I watched that video.

"Guns don't kill people, videogames do."

I found http://halo3.com/comic/ June 14, 2007 :)

#2 in the world for "Yuriev Time Trial" in Crackdown.

"Where'd you find that info?"

Spike TV coverage. I believe the founder of Kotaku mentioned it.

Unless it came from the horses mouth (o'connor or another 343 spokesperson) I would just put it down to media speculation.

  • 06.06.2011 2:23 PM PDT

I believe it.

Why would the Covies be in this game?

I don't see the point to it.

Well if that's true, then I think that's a step in the right direction. I have a feeling we're going to get much more info on the forerunners and maybe even the precursors on this one. I hope so anyway because that could open a door for new useable technology which could mean more inovative gameplay.

Extremely excited yet wary about this. It's great to see a more book-like Chief: zero-g boosters, impossibly fast and accurate reflexes. 343i could either ruin this or make it incredibly cool (Legends, Cryptum respectively).

I think we're going to be fighting Forerunners.

  • 06.06.2011 4:13 PM PDT

"Boom"

Your Dead.

Seemed good at first but then once chief woke up it turned into some Final Fantasy cutscene (which are quite ridiculous even in their own game). So please please please please please don't put crap like that in the game itself. Thanks! =D

very good trailer, heard that there will be no covenant in halo 4, that it is a different enemy (i think it may be the forerunners). did anyone notice his hand gun was different? We may see a lot of changes from halo 3 to halo 4

  • 06.07.2011 12:18 AM PDT

I thought I was the only one who noticed the issue with the trailer's pace. IMO it should've been about 30 seconds longer. It needed more buildup.

But I won't judge the game by the trailer. Hell, Reach's trailer looked pretty damn good.

This teaser was all anime like.

In what way?

Also what was that attachment the pistol had, looked like some sort of grenade.

silencer, i noticed that too.

I don't think it was a silencer, it might be an upgrade to help the gun's projectiles travel/velocity in space ?

One day... I am gonna grow wings... A chemical reaction... Hysterical and useless... hystecial and let down and hanging around... crushed like a bug in the ground.

My biggest complaint is that the MC should look like a battered and beaten hero after H3.

Rather he looks new and sqeaky clean.

I think it was actually a grenade launcher thing, because when he fires that first shot there is an explosion as he blows up a door. And if you pause at that moment it looks like he is shooting a grenade.

Perhaps the planet is Onyx. That way, the enemy could be the Steintals (can't spell) and you may be able to meet up with Halsey and the other Spartans.

  • 06.07.2011 1:00 AM PDT

For whatever reason, whenever I see this trailer I think of that one episode of Halo legends where the Chief goes and rescues Halsey from the covenant cruiser. it seems to be in the same type of animation style. Anyone else agree?

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

I can't put a coherent string of thoughts together. My mind is just screaming "HALO 4! HALO 4! LOOK HOW BULKY HIS ARMOUR LOOKS NOW, OMG! THRUSTERS! OMG!"

-A fanboy

(Oh, and this is a positive statement. Let's wait for an in-game trailer before we jump to conclusions.)

Crazy Chris was here (:

trailer was good, i liked the pace of it.
i wonder what that thing was in the end.
BTW anyone reamber in halo 3 the end of "The ARC" mission you see all those sentinel's and spark say's that they have another purpose of which he doe's not know, maybe they have something to do with his new enemy and could be linked in some way, i mean you never did see what happened to them.

It's implied those sentinels were assigned to the new Alpha Halo.

I Think the paceing was good, started off slow sped up bam leaft you wanting more, cant wait to find out more.

"Defiant Reclaimer, he who will shatter the land and break the sky apart..."

My guess is that 117 will encounter more spartans to take on a greater threat... As ambigious as it is; there should be between 9 to 26* surviving spartans. The halo games seem to have phased in teamwork after H3 -ODST and Reach all had closer 'Squad' relations, just my personal oponion but for John to be reunited with fellow spartans could have a lot of benefits.

I don't see the issue with the pacing at all. Sure, it wasn't a typical Halo trailer, but this isn't a typical Halo game. I loved Bungie's take on Halo, but I'd like to see a new one now. Perhaps one more fitting with the tone of the books? Dark, gritty, and gory.
