"A LIE is a LIE"

- Truly intelligent and deep Black ops trailer

That is NOT a jetpack. It is a anti-gravity thruster, standard for all Spartan armour (probably mark IV) for use of deep space operations.

http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Thruster_pack

Note where it says "The Mark IV MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/V variant Armor supports the use of T-PACKS."

He has always had it, the two bulky things on the back of his armor are part of the T Pack.

You're a mod, you should be used to that.

YES, it clearly is popped out of his armour.

It is for use of low/no grav environments. Chief has not been in a deep space environment during the games. He was in deep space during the trailer.

EDIT: other then Halo 2 bomb part

If you watch the trailer,it seems the thruster is built in.

So what?Did Halo 3 showed us Master Chief with infrared or night vision capabilities, even if the books said so.

Alot of things the MJOLNIR has that were mentioned in the books never appeared in the games, but that doesn't means it doesn't exist.

Stop being singleminded

It does look different, but better in my opinion. Reminds a lot of the Mark IV armor in terms of art direction.

Yes it's been remade, but this is chalked down to aesthetics like the change of HUD or the minor but equally noticeable changes from Halo 2 to Halo 3 (like the hands)

Actually, chief used the explosion of the bomb to boost himself.

Halopedia page on OP lists tFoR as source, and it says thruster is not built-in.

OMG GUISE DID THEY HAVE ARMOR ABILITIES IN HALO COMBAT EVOLVED!!!

Heaven forbid people actually 'upgrade' Chief or try to add new things to the game.

I could turn it back on you. TFOR AND Ghosts of onyx clearly stated the use of thrusters by two spartans, so I could say why didn't chief use it?

Use your brain. Bungie wasn't thinking that far ahead. It's called recon, bungie didnt realise the full features of the mark IV armour like the books/343i have done. Stop being wilfully ignorant; stuff like armour lock and whatnot were not realised until later in the games.

Also, think about it. Why would they give spartans an oxygen supply for deep space but NO thrusters? they wouldent. Thrusters are a logical addition to spartan armour.

Ok, quote where it says AT-thrusters were exclusively not built in?

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

Ok, quote where it says AT-thrusters were exclusively not built in?

Since there are so many of the same topics, I have it already prepared:

"[Kurt] switched on his reverse-angle camera and saw Kelly and Fred jump from the lock of the prowler after him. He knew not to turn his head to look. The motion would make him gyrate out of control. Besides, in the vacuum-enhanced variant of MJOLNIR armor, his mobility was a fraction normal."

And like you said already yourself in your very first post, (whether you know it or not) thrusters are included in the variant.

Thanks for quote.

But I think a point still stands, T-packs are part of the halo canon, it shouldn't be ruled out that MC had an enhanced chestpeice with built in T-packs. Also, by built in I mean one where T-packs are exclusively exterior add-ons, like a jet pack.

It seems odd that chief, in the halo canon has so comfortably gone out to space, the only way anyone would do that is if they have T-packs. Otherwise there's such a huge chance you end up flying for eternity in space.

I jumped at the bit to criticize Chief using a "jetpack" but then I realized that for a sealed suit of power armor, EVA thrusters seemed to make a lot of sense.
