I have still yet to see a statement from anyone who can verify that the MJOLNIR suits have integrated thruster packs in text based canon.

Well in Halsey's journal when it's talking about the upgrades to the Mark VI says: Nextgen EVA technology and null gravity assist package. This is obviously not concrete proof of a intergrated booster jet system, but it is highly possible.
Regarless, we're speculating about the final product based on a CGI teaser. Since when have any of them been an actual representation of the final product?

Actually I don't care about the CGI trailer at all. I actually want to get at the end of this rather curious topic because it does seem like there is no concrete evidence to support either side definitely. Which in itself it troublesome when people start posting one way or the other and telling others off by just "reading the books". This is still the universe forums, and not the Halo 4 forums. The canon situation regarding the status of integrated thruster packs for all MJORNIR armor sets as standard issue is something I'd like to see resolved with a line for line quote for either side.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

For those that say its impossible because it wasn't used in previous games, it didn't NEED to be used. There were very few space moments in the games. The most likely time for Chief to use these thrusters would be in the "Return to Sender" cutscene from Halo 2.

But Chief wouldn't use these thrusters if he didn't NEED to. He obviously didn't miss, and got a good enough push off the bomb to get back to his ship.

Also, these thruster could by no means lift a large, bioengineered super soldier in 1000 lb+ armor in regular gravity.

It is entirely plausible that Chief has had this feature throughout the games.

^Exactly adding to this. Remember how he had the Armour locking features at the beginning of H3 along with the back-up HUD, Cortana's active transfer without the chip in H2, Etc.

Just because these features aren't available to us in-game, it does not exclude the possibility that it does not exists.

Well there are various points in the various Halo games (notably 2 and Reach) where a t-pack would come in very handy but they werent there. I think the random addition of a t-pack in the Halo4 trailer adds nothing at all except confusion, it added nothing to the trailer.

Done what? Used his thrusters? They're probably chemical reactions. I bet the thrusters are full of baking soda and vinegar...

Reach was spartan IIIs with non-MarkVI armor... Halo 2 there weren't any times where he absolutely needed them.

He has always had it, the two bulky things on the back of his armor are part of the T Pack.

Still waiting for the source...

fall of reach, how about you read the whole book so you don't miss anything else that is common knowledge.

You're a friggin idiot. It was never stated that they were part of the standard suits that we know MC has. Go find the exact quote and then we will talk. Until then, get the -blam!- over yourself.

These thruster packs have always been spoken of as an additional piece of equipment put on.

Umm... wrong. The Fall of Reach does confirm that MJOLNIR have thruster packs... >.>

The Fall of Reach, page 143-

"We go EVA and use thruster packs to intercept the Covenant ship as it passes en route to the Commonwealth." It is said by John-117.

If you want, I can add more quotes from this book.

Find another that defines whether or not the thruster pack is an integrated park of the suit or an additional piece of equipment.

Edit:

Oh, and do include the entire context.

You failed to mentioned that in the following page John says "Spartans grab thruster packs and make ready to go EVA". Obviously if it was integrated into Mk IV, they would not need to "grab" thruster packs and attach them to themselves.

Edit 2:

For anyone wanting to follow along. Page 143 was where ragnarok's quote stems from. 144 paragraph 9 for the quote I put up.

What I'm more concerned about was that silencer Chief, and actually almost looks like this, pulled out of his butt. Did they add his magic pocket back in or does he have some secret silencer slot on his backside.
More importantly, that pistol he used blew up an entire wall. That can only mean one thing... Return of the Halo 1 pistol!!! "faints due to extreme awesomeness".

Oh thats right its Mk V in Reach. As for Halo 2 yes there were times when he needed them.

There is no way to spin this in a way that makes sense and fits nicely. He's suddenly got new armour, its weird.

his armour looks odd, so does the mark V in the remake

Yes it's been remade, but this is chalked down to aesthetics like the change of HUD or the minor but equally noticeable changes from Halo 2 to Halo 3 (like the hands)
I think it's a giant change. It looks ridiculous...like a Power-Rangers villain.

It's like they changed it from some high-grade military tech to something that they knew would appeal to the younger crowd (some flashy, space-warrior crap that screams "I'M GONNA KILL ALIENS AND SAVE TEH EARTH!!1!!1").

It is for use of low/no grav environments. Chief has not been in a deep space environment during the games. He was in deep space during the trailer.

Halo 2 begining THE BOMB PART He was in lo/no gravity enviroment when he flew THROUGH SPACE with the same suit.

How ignorant can you be?
he was under the influence of quite a bit of gravity and he picked his trajectory before he jumped, there was no point to activate them.

Fear the Probulator. Looking at my stats I see, well go ahead.

ok after seeing the video on xbox dashboard that is not a mark 6 suit. It is completely different from what Mc was wearing at the end of halo 3.

Go here to see
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GydJzHJfOA

completely different suit download to your xbox to see for yourselves

different shoulders chest forearms legs helmet EVERYTHING

topic is now flawed due to this not being the suit that was last on Master chief the mark 6.

I am still waiting for a single piece of evidence that states that standard MJOLNIR Mk VI armor had built in thrusters.
