Seriously, Halo Reach was a step in the right direction in terms of moving things back to Halo Combat Evolved, but why is it they feel the need to change a whole bunch of design aspects to make the game appealing? I'm disappointed that everything in the upcoming remastered Halo is being redesigned to fit the fact that Bungie decided to just ignore how everything looked in the first game. Thanks for your hard work, you guys have really made some fun games, but is it too much to ask for some continuity? You should be a little prouder of how elites looked 10 years ago, or how the chief's original armor beat every other version to date.

The bulkier SPARTAN design is more canonically correct if you read the books, this is how it should look. And with every new game comes better graphics, its just artistic styles that want to adapt and change with the graphics.

There is a certain point of tolerance that should never be reached.

Yes, lets just have the same art with slightly better graphics.

What spectagon are you in?

Halo Reach was a step in the right direction in terms of visual style? I thought It was artistically the most 'Non-halo' Looking game there has been. With all the fancy motion blur and what not.

Halo graphics have been changing since Halo: 2 succeeded Halo: CE. I think visual changes keep things fresh so full steam ahead.

Mark IV = bulky.
Mark V = just as bulky.
Mark VI = less bulky.

Frankly, the elites were plain back then.

Also, Master Chief's Mark V, IMO, was not the "BEST LOOKING ARMOR EVER"

I was one of the few who hated how much they changed things from Halo 1 to Halo 2. You are supposed to be a human death machine with strength enough to flip a tank, not some slender athlete covered in plastic plating. Perhaps I'm alone in this, but I fell in love with everything about the first game, and was let down when they so quickly abandoned much of it. They continue to do so, and as time goes on, it seems they keep trying to overwrite the old with new evolutions of the formula, like the art style of Halo Wars and elements from the more recent games.

"Don't mistake your rank and number for superiority.
The oldest child may learn from the youngest."

I can't say that I agree more. I've always favored the way Bungie styled Halo from the shape, to the shading, to the lighting of the characters and the environment which has somewhat added to the story. The evolutions of style from CE to 2 to 3 have always had a specific definition to that specific story.

In terms of the Halo: CE remake, the first thing that ticked me was the Chief's helmet, at around 0:34. It really doesn't give the Chief any authority, which is what he is all about. Another thing was the movement, which seemed way too linear. Nothing about the movement really seemed smooth. The last thing was the Reach-looking engine. All this time and they couldn't make something their own.

One thing is for sure, Halo will never be the same without Bungie, but that doesn't mean that whatever is left of Halo can't be great if 343 is willing to listen to the fans.

I hardly see how huge monotone concrete buildings is an art style.
If you look at the comparison images they just changed the block textures into something more detailed.

That is completly wrong. MJLONIR MARK VI was alot less bulkier than the Mark V model. It weighed less and was more compact.
