Subject: You're all complaining about Armour Abilities in Halo Anniversary

Now as you can clearly see in the trailer, when you see campagn footage there is a completely new engine, updated character models, we don't see these new models in the multiplayer shots. In the multiplayer shots we see Reach graphics spartans.

What I'm speculating from this is that the Anniversary game will include the remake of Halo CE and also 7 (7 reference by the way) classic Halo Maps remade as Halo Reach DLC.

This in my opinion is better, it'll lengthen the lifespan of Halo Reach as the main multiplayer game for Halo Fans until Halo 4 (IF that has multiplayer)

So now you're all complaining about armour abilities in Halo CE Remake I'd just like to say that there's most likely none in the CE remake, all the AAs you see in the trailer are multiplayer ones as far as I can see.

And even if it DOES have AAs...what was so bad about them in Reach. They sped up the gameplay, they changed the gameplay.

What did we have in Halo 3...the AR spray then beatdown, and the 4 shot...2 main tactics. Armour abilities provide a counter tactic to any tactic, and if you were a good player then you could counter the AAs rather than complaining about them.

Halo 2 for Life!

because it wrecks MP for ce remake, not even a little, were talking alot alot.

The multiplayer's gonna suck because its gonna be just like reach. And reach is not halo, its trash. The character models are the same, I bet they'll even add in credits and the same armor too with AAs. Its gonna be reach all over again.

Did you guys actually read what I wrote...2nd paragraph

I have to agree with you. AA's have brought a new aspect to our gameplay and have allowed us the opportunity to level the playing field. Besides people who dont like the AA's can also play MLG or gametypes such as slayer pro. I never hear anyone complain about the ability to sprint. As for CE anniversary, I am so excited I can barely wait for November. Bungie and 343 have never let me down and I will patiently await the next installment to the Halo universe.....after all CE changed the way we play FPS.

I always feel like I'm the only one who doesn't run into any problems with Armour Lock in particular.

1) Run around them in a tight circle, you'll most likely get an assassination or manage to weaken them down to no shields and then you'll have a clear shot and they'll still be looking around for you.

2) Well timed grenade and a headshot.

2 simple tactics that anyone can pull off with some practice...

  • 06.06.2011 2:10 PM PDT

You can also stand on top of an opponent who is in armor lock and crouch on his head. When they come out of armor lock it doesnt pop your shield and you can get the easy pummel. My girlfriend's son taught me that one.

mp is one thing that it self sets off the canon but they campaign THE MAIN thing thats important isnt touched

just when I was waiting for some new halo multiplayer, they crushed it all away. Great, you call adding 7 CE maps to reach an anniversary?

:/

  • 06.06.2011 3:29 PM PDT

dude i get what youre saying exactly ,dont listen to these ignorant fools, you nailed it.

  • 06.06.2011 3:33 PM PDT

Yeah rather than artificially lengthening the lifespan of Reach's multiplayer, they should put it to rest and make the Anniversary's the primary multiplayer.

  • 06.06.2011 4:53 PM PDT

Because armor abilities are the reason for why reach sucked so badly.

Don't hope for an easier life, hope to be, a stronger man.

By "Level the playing field" i'm assuming you mean cheesing your way out of a fight. Sprint, well, it just doesn't feel "right" for halo. The people who asked for it just didn't know what they were getting themselves into. Every other halo satisfied me for atleast a year, reach, however, was an utter abomination. A huge dissapointment in the eyes of many. Why? Too many to list without further making myself look like more of a douche. I'm going to leave you with your imagination, for the major black-marks.

"To be betrayed you have to trust."

People who are complaining should always know that Armor Abilities can be turned off. Which is why there is a "slayer classic" mode.

  • 06.06.2011 5:47 PM PDT

Lolz. They sped up gameplay? AA's made Reach WAY slower than other Halo's. And enough with the whole "if you were a good player then you could counter the AAs rather than complaining about them." If anything AA's save noobs in Reach. If you are stupid and walk out in the open and get shot you should not be able to just go into armor lock. Also if you get stuck with a grenade, that should be it, game over. Being able to be invisible should not be a loadout either and jet packs change gameplay in a bad way, especially on all the H2 remakes. Running is ok, but I still don't like it. Halo has always been about everyone starting on a level playing field, if you want a different gun or a power up you gotta fight for it, not spawn with it, this isn't COD. Don't think you are cool being in the 10% of people who actually like AA's.

  • 06.06.2011 6:02 PM PDT

Look like a douche if you want to....remember, you said it. I enjoy playing classic slayer and I'm good at it. When I say level the playing field, I refer to the tactics required to deal with all other AA's. I truly understand how you and so many other people feel about it, but all I'm saying is, if you dont like it, then dont play it. You can still get countless hours of enjoyment out of Halo 3. Also if you are so dissapointed and let down then why even spend time posting on forum topics about reach? Dont be bitter, either learn to play with the AA's and enjoy it, or dont play at all.

...Yes lets turn Halo into... COD... Great Idea! That seems to be exactly what your looking for.
Let me remind you that Halo: Reach came out in 2010.

100% agreed. I know you can turn off AA's but the gameplay is morphed around using them and in not doing so, it only makes it worse. Halo 3 was nice because you had a FEW, simple, ONE USE abilities that helped to create a strategy based MP, but Reach just made it so that everyone has everything, and when everyone has everything, no one has anything.

  • 06.12.2011 7:46 AM PDT

This is the same setup they did with ODST, you'd think all of you would be not surprised by this, now.

If you want to play CE Online MP so badly, you need to go get yourself CE for PC.

why does no one undersand. there will be the old halo ce campaign. then 7 maps that will act as DLC for halo reach!

hahaha

Halo Reach's lifespan is looking somewhat short BECAUSE of thinks like AAs. Armor lock wrecks the flow of a fight. Things like Drop shield encourage camping, especially in objectives. And I'm not saying that camping is stupid if your on Defense in a 1 flag game or something, because then your supposed to defend. But in Neutral bomb and things where both teams are on the offensive it wrecks the game for me when no one even wants to get the objective on the excuse that they'll camp to defend our base or something. And worst of all it made room for error. Halo has always been skillful and competitive. It took skill because there wasn't room for error. If you got a good score in a match then that meant you were skillful and knew how to avoid error and not make stupid mistakes.

Now in Reach, if you make stupid mistakes, you can now get away with it and be saved by your dumb AA. If you make a mistake, like charging up to someone when he nearly had you finished, you can Armor lock, and your team kills him. It takes away skill, and wrecks the game for those who do have actual skill.

Reach is kind of honestly a totally wrecked Halo, and we don't want to play CE maps with AAs and bloom.

Every AA is a double edged sword one way or another.

I'm for AA's 100% everything has a way around it and if your strategic enough really any AA's you enemy currently has should be a breeze.

First off 343i said that the campaign gameplay hasn't been touched. 2nd, Armor abillties are fine if you know how to counter them(It's not that hard just don't rush). Reach isn't bad, you are.
