Halo Reach's lifespan is looking somewhat short BECAUSE of thinks like AAs. Armor lock wrecks the flow of a fight. Things like Drop shield encourage camping, especially in objectives. And I'm not saying that camping is stupid if your on Defense in a 1 flag game or something, because then your supposed to defend. But in Neutral bomb and things where both teams are on the offensive it wrecks the game for me when no one even wants to get the objective on the excuse that they'll camp to defend our base or something. And worst of all it made room for error. Halo has always been skillful and competitive. It took skill because there wasn't room for error. If you got a good score in a match then that meant you were skillful and knew how to avoid error and not make stupid mistakes.
Reach's lifespan is no different form any other Halo title.
AA's added a huge strategic element to the game. Where in the past the past you only had to think about what weapons the other player had. Now, not only do you have to worry about weapon control you have to take the AA's into account.
AL: (the most feared/complained about by majority of Bnet)
This ability is the prime example of double edged sword.
Useless: if your enemy is at a distance and your team is nowhere to be found.
Useful: When your teammates are there to lend a helping hand
Extremely useful: if used in one on one encounters with an enemy that has they're head firmly stuck in they're rear.
Now in Reach, if you make stupid mistakes, you can now get away with it and be saved by your dumb AA. If you make a mistake, like charging up to someone when he nearly had you finished, you can Armor lock, and your team kills him. It takes away skill, and wrecks the game for those who do have actual skill.
What if this was the intended strategy? If the intention was to make the enemy fall for a decoy and it works, How is that any less skillful?
Sounds to me like this is a team that knows how to utilize the AA's in a way that benefits the team as a whole.
Reach is kind of honestly a totally wrecked Halo, and we don't want to play CE maps with AAs and bloom.
Here are some solutions:
1.Start posting in the 343i forums with with examples of a playlist that would best suit Halo:CE within the Halo: Reach game settings.
2.Play in customs with your own settings.
3.Play Halo:CE for PC.
4.Play Halo:CE via XboxConnect(system link over the internet)
5.Just don't play.
(This is directed to anyone that has the same complaints)
