Founder and Commander of The Spartan Special Forces

Let the Blue Flame rise and conquer those unworthy to pwn in its presence.

I think that after Halo 2, the campaigns of the following Halos seem to twindle in popularity. I think this is because Halo 2 had more time to be worked on. Halo 3 and Reach seemed only to be made for the Multiplayer experience. Don't get me wrong, I liked the H3 Campaign; Halo Reach, not so much.

So I am hoping that, because 343 had more time to work on Halo 4, it will have a much better campaign (also because it begins the second trilogy).

What are your thoughts?

All the halo games were rushed (save for reach i believe)

I'm not really an Apple person (Bananas forever) but damn, that's kinda sad.

Ironic considering Halo 2's story was horrible, and it had the smallest dev cycle.

Halo 4 should be more focused on the story, or risk cheapening the franchise.

@grey101
Why you quote my whole post and just added one sentence?

No way, Halo 2's story was great!

Introduction to the other Halo Arrays
Introduction to the Brutes
Introduction to Covenant Society
Introduction to Arbitor
Introduction to the Elite uprising
Aftermaths of Halo:CE's installation 04.
More Detail on the UNSC marines.
Introduction to Miranda Keyes.
Coinciding with aspects of pre-establish canon. [Mac Stations, POA escape from Reach]
Added voices to covenant species and therefore character.
Prophets had their role explained.
ODST's were introduced
High Charity the Covenant Homeworld was on show.
Delta Halo was seen in game.
Earth's invasion.
Cortanas rampancy questioned.
Character development[Arbiter cause Chief has no real character LOL}
Etc on and on.

It was far from horrible, what other game put you in the narritive of the enemy. Split campaign was arguebly a bad choice, but from a story telling point of view it was great, it added so much and set the stages for later games.

@ninjakenzen

THANK YOU!

I sure hope it's campaign-focused; and don't dare you denigrate the might of H2's campaign!

I like you, so I'll keep this brief :)

No way, Halo 2's story was great!

Introduction to the other Halo Arrays

Which removed the mystery & epic-ness of destroying the Halo. It was unnecessary.

Introduction to the Brutes

The big, dumb bullet sponges that nobody likes?

Introduction to Covenant Society

I actually liked this, but it could havce been done much better.

Introduction to Arbitor

Arbiter :)

That was epic, he's my favorite character in the series.

Introduction to the Elite uprising
Aftermaths of Halo:CE's installation 04.

The Elite uprising was a massive plot hole that made no sense; Why would Truth try to kill the more capable Elites in favour of Brutes? Also, it was far to convenient for the UNSC victory.

More Detail on the UNSC marines.

Not really

ntroduction to Miranda Keyes.

Who was a one-dimensional character that had no development, and she was pretty useless from a story point of view anyway.

Coinciding with aspects of pre-establish canon. [Mac Stations, POA escape from Reach]

Not really a plus; it's like saying it's a plus for a vietnam war-themed book to recognize WW2.

Added voices to covenant species and therefore character.

Trufax

Prophets had their role explained.

Prophets are dumb; they serve no role in most missions, and their motives & characterizations could be achieved by Elites.

ODST's were introduced

So?

High Charity the Covenant Homeworld was on show.

For no reason; it gave away the goods too soon, and it failed miserably.

Delta Halo was seen in game.

Delta Halo is dumb; it was necessary
.
Earth's invasion.

Which should've been a no contest fight; the UNSC should havce LOST!

Cortanas rampancy questioned.
Etc on and on.

It wasn't bad, but it had much room for improvement.

Halo 2 basically created the Covenant society and religion, expanded greatly the background of the Forerunner and the Flood, introduced many awesome characters like the king of badass-ness himself, the Arbiter, and did it with a plot full of twists that always kept you interested. The only downside was the cliffhanger, but I hated it only because it was such a good story that I didn't want it to end. So basically, Halo 2 ruled, and I wish Halo 4 was inspired by it (and by Halo CE and Halo 3 as well - just keep Reach's disappointingly paper-thin and irrelevant "plot" away from me).

I just hated the fact that in halo 2, the gravemind had the ability to teleport chief and arbitur to certain places :S

(High charity and the control room).

Remember that every Halo has teleportion grids, as seen in H:CE.
Gravemind with his knowledge and capability was able to manipulate this. High Charity was also within arguably close distance to Delta Halo.

But i see your point, he could have teleported flood creatures to High Charities and other parts as well. However being the "brains" of the flood, I think his plan to prevent the activation of Delta Halo worked quite well, which is why he may have not taken the steps shown prior.

Fair enough, I respect your opinion.

Sorry OP, this is getting slightly off-topic.
