An Elite leaps somewhere in the trailer, which could potentially mean that it is the Halo CE engine.

But he also does the roaring and sword pulling animation seen in Halo 2.

So it must be refined (there were no provisions for sword pulling in Halo CE).

Edit:

Looks like I was wrong. He was already holding the sword. :(

Added animation doesn't mean gameplay changes. They could have modded the engine a bit. I'm pretty sure all they said was they didn't change the gameplay. They would have had to change to engine to get that level of graphical quality.

to Reiterate

Engine modification does not equal gameplay changes

This article says refined gameplay mechanics.

Anyways, the demands I ask are certainly possible (having modded Halo PC and since it's possible to mod Halo for Xbox using Halo PC modding programs, I'm pretty sure that these changes could easily be implemented).

Maybe they could have two Halo CE engines, one unmodified Halo CE and the other one modified Halo CE.

Or maybe they should just give us a modding program with the disc, so we could modify the campaign or a campaign game save.

What's the difference then?

It's the Reach engine with CE physics.

According to the Waypoint Behind the scenes. No it is not. It is the CE engine with new graphics. Multiplayer is just Halo Reach, like ODST had Halo 3's MP.

No, I just know how game engines work.

And I have such a low post count because I don't visit or post a lot.

i hope that is the pre alpha beta render concept cuz it looked worse the the original graphics! the original ce graphics are still OK. those were terrible.

What about this then:

?

Engage in epic-scale battles against the backdrop of the eponymous"Halo" ringworld, and relive nostalgic memories with the ability to toggle Classic mode to play the original version. Why a classic version if it's unchanged?

it means switch to the Old Graphics, have you watched the Waypoint behind the scenes? (it shows the feature) It is on their youtube page if you don't have waypoint.

Alright then, can you explain the distinction between game engines and gameplay?

I'm aware of the ViDoc. It's just that I don't turn the volume on. Captions would be preferable.

A game engine powers the game, it determines the physics and graphics and the code that controls gameplay. They can edit the graphics without altering the code that controls gameplay, it is not one big thing.

Think of it as a computer or car, it has many parts that you can swap/change out without altering/affecting the others or the big picture (depending on what you change)

Ok. Thank you.
