While your intentions may have been noble, NMST turned into a bunch of snobby jerks acting as though they were superior to the other users.
This just in: You're not.
You are users, too. You have no right to get on other people's cases, and you CERTAINLY have no right to try to seperate yourselfs as the "better" posters in the forums.
My point stands from before. If you want to make the forum a better place, you do it not by being pompous and egotistical. You do it by practicing what you preach, and by posting good posts, following the rules, and providing an example for the other users as to what a model user is like.
Something every one of you NMST people have to understand is that the Bungie community is in the 10's of thousands. A lot of those are just kids who don't know or even care that a community exists, they're just interested in Halo and Halo 2, and they're not willing to delve into a forum just to find the answer to some simple question. Or, they might be brats who are just seeking trouble. Or, they might be english dropouts who are convinced that they're already the best at Halo 2, even though they haven't played it. The only way one can have complete control over the kind of people that go to a forum is to make a private, friends only forum that only trusted people can be a part of. Bungie has no intention of being so exclusive, so what you ALL need to understand is that there will always be jerks, because an open forum invites that demographic. We simply cannot control that. However, we CAN control the users with the superiority complex (IE, this militia nonsense), and we will do so if we must.
If you really want to make things easier on the moderators, you're going about it all wrong.
That makes sense. Well we can only hope the amount of spam in New Mombassa will be better after Halo 2........hope is the key word, but we can still try and make it better. Like Shishka said, practice what you preach.
