Subject: Halo 4 Enemy theory plus flood origin (so simple just open your eyes)

Okay now first of all, I want to point out that there is no actual evidence that the flood could have been created. Actually they are fat to complicated of a species to be creaed. People claim that the flood could not have naturally evolved due to the fact that they would try and consume the entire echosystem. This is utter bull-blam!- because the flood would not have suddenly apeared in the echosystem. They would have slowly evolved through mutation after mutation while the other species around the flood would have evolved to match the flood.

Although it is more likely that the flood evolved naturally than that they were created, it is still hard to believe that an a-blam!- creature could have evolved to be such a diverse species. This also does not explain their telepathic connection. But there is one thing that could have changed this. What if the flood was created supernatural. Think of it, the flood just magically apear in this galaxy and start destroying flood settlements with ease. Who else would be responsible but the goddess of the Cthulhu Mythos Shub-Niggurath and her thousand young? Look at the young for a second. They are clearly the creators of the flood. See how they have all those mouths? The flood spores are generated inside them, and they continually create more and more flood. It is so simple just open your eyes.
Now that we have established this simple fact that halo will cross over with Lovecraft, we have to know that halo will never have just one enemy. Obviously if there are flood, then who will the flood infect to take some of the infection forms that we know of? Well come on for a second why would every covenant ship perish? Isn't it obvious that one or two of the covenant ships would have survived? Why not they meat the same fate as master chiefs ship and be sucked into that giant shield world??
So far we have listed the flood, Shub-Niggurath the great old one, and the covenant. But aren't we forgetting something? Yes. Yes we are. The forrunners. That's right this is a shield world which means we will be fighting sentinals like the ones in ghosts of onyx. So expect a tough fight. If you remember onyx, you will remember that the sentinals can only be killed by slow moving objects. Remember that grenade pistol in the trailer? That's right perfect sentinal killer. Here is a picture of the main sentinel that you will be fighting in the game

Before I leave this thread to popular discussion I will say one more thing: What makes you think it will even be an FPS?

Separate that into paragraphs, and I might read it.

Also, The Flood are from beyond this Galaxy, and we don't know exactly where they came from. And we shouldn't know. Scarier that way.

The book that came with Halo 3 special edition says that they came from beyond this galaxy.

Careful, dude. Not agreeing with Greg Bear around here is like being black in the deep south.

You'll be verbally lynched.

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

Maybe you should read Halo: Cryptum before coming up with some stupid Flood theory

Actually I found what I was looking for. Straight from HaloWiki

Early experiments showed the potential for psychotropic effects in some lower levels but not in humans or San'Shyuum. The primary animals affected were popular pets in human societies: the Pheru, lively and gentle creatures first found on a planet in the same star system as the the san'shyuum homeworld. Very small quantities of the powder induced changes in the Pheru that improved their domestic behavior. Soon san'shyuum adopted the custom of taking Pherus as pets. For centuries humans and san'shyuum bred and powdered these animals without ill consequences. However the powder soon attached itself to key points in the genes of the Pheru and began to change them, which manifested itself a as peculiar growth found on a third of the powered Pheru. A kind of loose, soft fur grew between the shoulders of the pets. Other Pheru were soon found grazing on these companions, consuming their fur-and on occasion even consuming the the animals themselves. Pheru were naturally herbivores. This seemed to activate some sort of biological timer, a signal for expansion. Within a very short time, the Pheru were producing far less attractive growths. Flexible striped rods sprouted from their heads, which in turn were also consumed by fellow Pheru, causing abortions and unnatural births. But this was only the surface of the growing infestation.

Because I hate that Greg Bear pissed-out what there still was of mystery and ambiance in the Halo Universe.

I mean, come on. Humanity and Forerunners go to war, Forerunners devolve us, the Flood are some white powder that domesticates pets (as opposed to an extra-galactic horror), the Flood beat the Forerunners (at least he got that right), and the Forerunners choose us as their heirs...

No.

Imagine a triangle. It's perfect, but a little plain. You take a chisel, and carve a small decorative symbol into it to make it a little more interesting. People like it, but it could use a little more.

So you then take a sledgehammer..

Sorry dude you're wrong.

Read Cryptum.

While I wouldn't personally plug it into the main story, The Flood being a Lovcraftian spawn is one of the cooler things I've read in the forums.

I would greatly prefer the Cthulu explanation to the Greg Bear "pet domestication" explanation, what I really want is for them to remain a mysterious, horrifying entity (similar to John Carpenter's "The Thing" and Ridely Scott's "Alien") of unknown origin.

Dear god.

You must be a troll or at least mentally retarded.

Learn to read. His explanation is in block-form, and could use some grammar fixes, but The Flood being a Lovecraftian horror is a pretty damn cool idea.

The Gravemind is Cthulu-y enough already...I'm surprised that no-one else has brought this up.
