Everybody has a story of how they were introduced to that amazing universe full of excitement and wonder, what's yours?

I remember I first played Halo 2 in split screen custom games with my friend one day, and I really liked it. We used to play it every day but I had never played any of the campaigns (his disc was a piece of -blam!- and the campaign wouldn't load). Later I found out my stepdad had Halo CE and Halo 2, so I started the campaign of CE and realized what an epic game it was! Then I moved on to 2, and 3...

Its almost funny, I remember one christmas my mom bought me TFoR and the Flood and I thought "Halo books? I'll never read these". Then, one day out of boredom I picked up TFoR and started reading, little did I know of the awesome story inside which I've read 3 times and know by heart today.

I'm not really an Apple person (Bananas forever) but damn, that's kinda sad.

My brother started playing the first level of CE without me, and when I got back I was pissed.

He gave me the controller for "Halo", walked away to do something, and left me alone.

I haphazardly walked out of the drop pod, turned around, and watched, amazed by the sight of Halo on the horizon.

It was <3

Everytime someone sacks my groceries, I think of Loaf.

Got Halo CE for my birthday in 2001.

xmas 2002

I came into my lounge and my sister had been playing halo, it was on the first level and i picked up the controller and thought it looked like a game that'll change the world (it did) I didn't know what to do or where to go so I just shot at marines and they said "oi same team" so i was like wow that's cool then i left to do something else. About an hour later I came back and my sis had left the game on again but this time on the level "Halo" I was like "oh hot dayum" seeing the nice green lush landscape and the halo ring in the sky... tbh then i didn't know it was a ring world I thought it was a rip in the dimension or something... good times

Reading a Mass Effect/ Halo/ Star Wars crossover, realized "hey, Halo is much deeper than its critics claim."

Foman is awesome!

My brother in law got me Halo 3 back in early 2008 after he won it at a Dave & Busters.

Christmas 2001.

I had never played a shooter before. I had no idea what I was about to step into.

Now it's my favorite franchise. I've read all of Nylund's full-length novels, played through every game besides Halo Wars on Legendary, and try my best to defend it from it's increasingly convoluted and dumbed-down canon...

I played Halo 3 MM with friends a lot. Had only played through the Halo 2 campaign once a long time before that and never played Halo: CE. Then when Reach came out, I got into it and bought the Legendary edition and with it came Dr. Halsey's journal. I read through that journal and was just enthralled. I then bought the novels and read through them (haven't had time to read Cole Protocol or Cryptum yet, though) while also replaying all the campaigns. Then I read through The Terminals and the other side stories of Halo.

And now... I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for Halo: CE Anniversary (and its new Terminals) and Halo 4!
