Why is everyone so scared that 343i can't handle the story for a Halo game?
I mean, except for Halo CE, all the campaigns in the Halo games made by Bungie have an unsatisfactory ending, feeling rushed. Don't believe me?
Halo 2: No matter how much I like the story in this game, there was no ending in the game, it was just a big cliffhanger. And the worst part, the Elites joined humanity so that we can finally have a chance to win. Don't misunderstand me, I wanted humanity to win, but the Elites becoming our allies seems so rushed, and only for the sake of having us win, instead of, I don't know, something more creative.
Halo 3: The fight is over? There are brutes and prophets alive, the Flood was stopped, but I can assure that it still exists, and a chance of escaping again is very possible. There is still a war between The Covenant Loyalists and Separatists, humanity will have a hard time recovering after this war. But maybe the worst thing is the last level, not only Johnson dies unnecessarily, but 343 Guilty Spark goes rampant out of nowhere, and probably the most uninspired (a cheap, shameless carbon copy) escape ever made. So no, Finish the fight was a very fitting tagline that I never really experienced.
Halo 3: ODST: I never felt connected to the main character, didn't liked the squad, and all your work is worthless. I mean, the whole mission was to rescue an Engineer... for what?
Halo Reach: Destroyed the whole Halo story, nothing made, sense, I wanted the game to end after the first mission. Took me 9 more... dang!
