I love halo but when Halo 4 was annouced and it was created by 343 and Microsoft studios I didnt know what to think. So do you think they talked and worked with Bungie to create the story. Because I dont want to buy a Halo game that is not the true campaign made by the true creators. What do you think because im not sure. Also is 343 apart of bungie or is seprate from bungie.

Thank you.

So you're not interested in the quality of the game at all, and just want to stick to your preconceived notions? Very narrow minded.

It looks like they are going to make this game pretty epic, we'll have to wait and see.

By the look of things, 343 is what Microsoft came up with to continue the halo cash cow since Bungie said they were going to look into other avenues of games to create. I will purchase the game but it will determine if I will invest my time into the next set of Halo games. I hope Microsoft doesn't butcher the series with this risky move IMO.

If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

There is still so much of the story that is left unknown to us. 343i was formed to tell us the rest of the story through gameplay.

If it means there has to be a Halo 4 and 5 and even a 6th. Then so be it. Frank O'Conner has control of 343i and thats all I need to expect great games out of them.

A lot of Bungie members make up 343.

Such as?

As far as I'm aware there are only two named former members of Bungie working at 343i. Former community writer Frank O Conner and former animator Nathan Wapole.

After Halo CE remake comes out the only halo game i didn't play in the series was halo 2. Halo 3 Campaign and multiplayuer was fun as hell. ODST and Reach's campaign were frustrating. Reach's multiplayer...meh I guess it's a fun game but there really isn't any competitiveness which is sad. What I hope for in Halo 4 is a great campaign, fun AND competitive multiplayer.

Shiska, Vic DeLeon.

I trust 343i...

Why is everyone so scared that 343i can't handle the story for a Halo game?

I mean, except for Halo CE, all the campaigns in the Halo games made by Bungie have an unsatisfactory ending, feeling rushed. Don't believe me?

Halo 2: No matter how much I like the story in this game, there was no ending in the game, it was just a big cliffhanger. And the worst part, the Elites joined humanity so that we can finally have a chance to win. Don't misunderstand me, I wanted humanity to win, but the Elites becoming our allies seems so rushed, and only for the sake of having us win, instead of, I don't know, something more creative.

Halo 3: The fight is over? There are brutes and prophets alive, the Flood was stopped, but I can assure that it still exists, and a chance of escaping again is very possible. There is still a war between The Covenant Loyalists and Separatists, humanity will have a hard time recovering after this war. But maybe the worst thing is the last level, not only Johnson dies unnecessarily, but 343 Guilty Spark goes rampant out of nowhere, and probably the most uninspired (a cheap, shameless carbon copy) escape ever made. So no, Finish the fight was a very fitting tagline that I never really experienced.

Halo 3: ODST: I never felt connected to the main character, didn't liked the squad, and all your work is worthless. I mean, the whole mission was to rescue an Engineer... for what?

Halo Reach: Destroyed the whole Halo story, nothing made, sense, I wanted the game to end after the first mission. Took me 9 more... dang!

Has Shiska been confirmed to be in 343i's employ? Last I heard he simply dropped off the grid entirely with no one knowing where he went and Bungie employees stating that people should not harass him for his wherabouts.

Did someone call for a Medic?

In the trailer... he put a silencer on the magnum...

anybody else see that?

This is all I have to say, Bungie gave us Halo 3 hands down my favorite game hands down. Then they gave us Halo reach....
As long as Halo 4 is more like all the other halo except for reach I will be extremely happy.

You know Halo 3 was VASTLY different from Halo: Combat Evolved, right?

I'll take 20.

But yea, people, dont worry. Bungie will always have a hand in it somewhere. And microsoft has to much invested in Halo to let it be bad.

If anything I think we should be a bit excited cause Halo is in a new set of hands, with new ideas and approaches. This is not a time to be Loyalists, that will get you no where.

  • 06.06.2011 11:46 PM PDT

343 is a division of microsoft and is supervising the production of the two games, not necessary helping with development. As far as I know, bungie is not involved at all.

Your friendly and eccentric Sangheili forum-poster. :)

I wasn't a big fan of Bungie's storytelling towards the end, it really seemed like they were just tired of making Halo games when it came to Halo 3, so this gives me hope that Halo 4 will actually have a decent Campaign mode.
