What's up everybody?

I assume you've all seen the new trailer for 4. If not, check it out.

As I'm sure most of you are aware, there are some inconsistancies. Before I go any further, I'd like to point out that this was most likely a rushed, cg, non-in-game trailer that was made for the sole purpose of letting the community know that Halo 4 was coming.

So when I say all this, just know that I acknowledge the fact that these designs may not be final and the final game may go back to what Mk VI looked like in Halo 2 and 3.

That said: ...wtf? The armor looks completely different. Master Chief is extremely talented for having changed a suit of mjolnir armor inside of a cryo-chamber... by himself no less. lol. anyway. I've heard theories that he has gotten new armor since /Halo 3. However, if you look at the pictures here, you can see that they still have the scratch on the right chestplate of his armor. So this leads me to believe that this is supposed to be the same armor he had in 3.

The new armor theory is also unlikely because we can here Cortana say "I need you" in the beginning, which leads me to believe that this is the first time he's been awakened since /Halo 3.

The chief also seems to be sporting some thrusters in his quote unquote "new armor". Where did those come from, and if he already had them, why didn't he use those in both Halo 2 when he's outside Cairo sation and at the end of 3 when he's floating around in the ass-end of the Dawn.

I'm done complaining, as I said before, I'll wait for more before I completely dislike the direction of the project.

P.S. Why is the dawn on fire? They've been in space long enough for there to be significant precipitation build-up in the cryo room, but the fires that were never there in the first place just started up out of the blue?

one more thing... rocket pistol?

lol, I'm done.

TL;DR: there's new armor, and I'm salty about it.

Cortana also got a haircut... and a graphics downgrade. lol.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see in-game.

First of all, that trailer was CGI. Not ingame. Secondly if you notice, Chief's armor in Halo 2 looked different then in Halo 3? Armor upgrade? I think not, just different graphics.

Regarding the thrusters, according to the books, all Mark V and VI had thrusters for SPACE ONLY.

Different Armor...? No no no...Canically, that is how it should have looked like in the first place.

Frankie has stated that there IS a reason why he looks like that. Said that during the IGN interview.

You clearly didn't read my entire post. That's exactly what I said. I know it's not in-game, and I'm going to wait and see if they keep the design.

Also, different hand covers from 2 to 3 are hardly changes at all.

I don't know where people are getting this from. You're the second person I've heard say that. I'm a huge fan of the books and the expanded universe, but the game can show us what the armorlooks like. A book cannot. Besides, the game version of the Mk VI is so iconic. I prefer the Mk V, but the Mk VI is the armor I picture when I think of Master Chief.

Would people please actually read the books before posting this?
NOWHERE is it stated that the Mark V and Mark VI suits had built-in thrusters. Every time the Spartans go EVA in the books, they don EXTERNAL t-packs.

One guy makes a thread where he quote mines TFoR, and now it's everywhere.

Thank you. This^. They always had external thrusters. I'd imagine they would look similar to the "reentry unit" Noble 6 wore in LNoS.

Also, if the Mk VI did have thrusters, you would have used them when you went outside Cairo Station.

I'm not gonna lie, the new armor looks really cool. I like the way it looks. I'd even go further and say I like the way it looks better than the Halo 3 armor. HOWEVER, I don't think it's right to change the model that drastically. It wouldn't have bothered me at all if MC gets "Mk VII" somewhere along the way, but the armor he wakes up in should look like the armor he fell asleep in. End of story. 343i constantly talks about how they want to stay true to Halo, but it looks to me like they're off to a blammy start.
