Subject: Halo 3's Legendary Ending question

Yes, I know what the Legendary ending entails. Yes, I know that Chief's half of the ship is near the Legendary Planet.

My question is: Did the Forward Unto Dawn's rear half get teleported to the middle of nowhere or pushed by the explosion of the Halo ring? For that matter, did the Halo ring fire before it was destroyed?

The frigate did a slipspace jump as the ring was exploding and thus, got torn in half with one half (Thel's) going back to Earth and the other (John's) being sent drifting into the unknown.

Did the ring fire, though?

No, had the ring fired, all life would have perished across the galaxy.

The Ark is really really really far away from the galaxy and all the life in it.

The sequence would have fired the other rings, thus, killing everybody.

"2 to the 18th light years from galactic center, to be precise"

"Calamity! The Ark is out of range of all other active installations!"

04-B fired, but it was a smaller tactical pulse just to clear off the surface of the ark. It then exploded cos it wasnt ready and set the arks atmosphere on fire.

John was very lucky to get his ass through the portal before the neutron harmonic pulse swept the dawn at the speed of light.

Luck.
