A simple google search finds your "source" straight away.
But discussing leaks is against the rules, so you might want to be careful.
Lol, it's funny that in that particular forum he quotes this post, even the part at the end that says 'cheers - shadow'
On topic: Perhaps this forerunner installation, Sigma 7, was a place similar to the ark. The ark was used to keep a specimen of all the species of the galaxy so that after the Halo ring was activated they could repopulate the galaxy. Perhaps this place was where they kept all the specimens of environments, plantlife etc.
That way after the Halo ring was fired and the galaxy was all destroyed that could go terraform the galaxy with a kind of a catalog of all the natural environments of the galaxy.
Probably not, because the Halo rings only destroy actual physical environments at point-blank range (i.e. only in the same star system as the ring), so that would only be like 7 systems out of the entire milky way to terraform.
Yeah, that's right, it only kills the flood's food. Well if this leak is true then I wonder why the Forerunners would have a plant with the inner crust filled with various natural environments.
Ghosts Of Onyx explains this - if you haven't already, read it. It's a good book.
I'll explain it to you in shortened terms. Basically, as you said, Halos kill the Flood's food (note: not the Reach forum...), including Forerunners. The Forerunners, being self-preservationist, built "shield-worlds" like Onyx or "Sigma 7", as a sort of bomb-shelter or fallout-shelter from the Halo Array.
