Subject: Firefight in ODST is way better than reach's

It is way more fun! it made me like firefight and i enjoy it action way more!

  • 06.07.2011 10:17 AM PDT

No, Reach has better maps, and more action.

  • 06.07.2011 11:00 AM PDT

to show my appreciation i reward you with a cookie (::)... enjoy

i might have to agree with you odst was pretty fun and challenging because of how easy it is to die i also like how it didnt have a time limit

  • 06.07.2011 11:23 AM PDT

I was young, I was surviving the times. Waiting for my moment I was destined to shine. And I seized it!

I completely agree. ODST FF was much better, maps and all.

This is a RETICULE, and that is a RETICLE. I'm using the latter to aim. And what are you using?

This.

ODST's FF is about survival. You have limited lives, a crapload of Covies that gets stronger and stronger due to more and more skulls becoming activated, no "Caches of Infinite Ammo", and no armor abilities like armor lock to save your hide if you get stuck. All that makes ODST's FF far more thrilling and intense than Reach's.

FF in Reach is all about getting as many kills within 15 minutes with no regards to how often you die. And unfortunately, that's how people play even in FF Limited and not only FF Arcade.

i think reach has cool maps but the firefight on reach sucks but in odst has awsome firefight and weopons

Best. Ship. Ever!

I personally had a lot more fun playing firefight in ODST with my friends than I did with Reach. It was more exhilarating and you actually feel like you accomplished something when you survive a set.

Reach firefight bored me. It was mostly due to the new gameplay mechanics introduced in Reach but they also make it easier for you in Reach and that takes away some of the fun.

ODST FF is a test of teamwork, perseverance, planning, and skill - the complete opposite of Reach's FF.

I also don't think that Reach's FF maps are generally better than ODST's. There are a few that are really great (Unearthed, Waterfront, Holdout), but ODST has more overall enjoyable maps than Reach.

Exactly.

Map wise, ODST dominates. You generally had one strong position you could hold out on the map that you would eventually fall back to as the waves got harder and harder. Reach lacks maps with areas like this, areas where you and your team have to hold or otherwise will fall.

Reach lacks limited ammo crates, which means saving ammo is next to pointless. You literally have no concern for your survival because of this, coupled with the time limit. As Gangster No1 said, you aren't worrying about surviving, you are worrying about getting as many kills as possible to boost your score and get more credits.

I also much prefer using the silenced SMGs and Magnums over Reach's weapon sandbox, they are just way more fun.

Being alone.
You're a mod, you should be used to that.

debatable.

Exitus Acta Probat

ODST FF felt real and difficult but Reach is far too easy and plus you can make yourself invincible...how is that real?

  • 06.08.2011 12:56 AM PDT

I tried to smoke some hash, but the corned beef wouldn't light!

I miss the drums of odst.

  • 06.08.2011 4:11 AM PDT

reach has good maps but the firefight on odst is amazing

  • 06.08.2011 7:47 AM PDT

I for sure like the campaign Better but AAs help a lot in fire fight... But I still like the fire fight in odst:)

  • 06.08.2011 7:50 AM PDT

Shocking
I thought Reach would be the last in the series
Guess who's going to walmart at midnight again in 2012

I Disagree
In Reach's firefight you can customize settings that you were never able to do in odst

  • 06.08.2011 9:58 AM PDT

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Agreed and it doesn't end there. I think ODST is the better game. Not only does it have a better FF then Reach, it's overall better then Reach, imo. If I had to choose to buy one of them, I'd definitely pick ODST.

Liam Eaton

definatley agree being an odst in firefight not having dmr or sheilds is way more satisfying then reachs, its too easy on reach

True. But people are mostly playing matchmade FF games were you can customise nothing.

Basically, ODST's FF is much closer to GoW2's Horde mode. It's a constant struggle for survival instead of an FRG-spamming fest.

same could be said with the rest of reach compared to the rest of the series. The campaign was mediocre and very homogeneous, the mp really had nothing to drive it, no motivation to play it (as with firefight), and theatre, just sucks without another person.

This is a Reach account that I created the day they announced his name in a bnet weekly update. Any stats regarding ODST or Halo 3 are irrelevant. Also, Halo CE master race. Halo 1 > other halo games > other games.

Account Status: Silver :(

I really like Rally Point, but to each his own. Both offer a different kind of experience. I like Reach because it accessible and the gametypes are made for you to dominate AI for 15 minutes. ODST is more arcade like and it's all about survival. ODST is much more frustrating to me, but at the same time feels more rewarding. They are different, but both are great.

ODST is better for teamwork and intensity, but Reach is alot funer when you just want to have a laugh and is a refreshing break to the multiplayer :)

  • 06.09.2011 4:56 AM PDT

In general Halo Reach is the best Halo game, but ODST's firefight deffinately had semething about it that made it more fun.

  • 06.09.2011 7:36 AM PDT

I think it's like the difference between L4D and L4D2.
