Mods. They use them all the time it sucks I always encounter modders

for all you fools out there who belive this guy:
it is COMPLEATLY IMPOSSIBLE IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM TO CHEAT IN HALO PC
true, there are latency issues, leading to many cheap kills and such, but halo is made in a MUCH diffrent fassion that games like counterstrike. in CS, everything, every aspect of your character is controlled by your computer. therefore, you can change his speed, auto aim degree, chance of headshot, health, ect. in halo, all of thoes thing are contolled DIRECTLY BY THE SERVER. that means, if you wanna mod one of your aspects in the game, you end up modding everyone's. therefore, there is no real advantage to modding halo, it just opens a new aspect of gameplay.
of course this system has it's downsides. it requires that every player's computer send a signal to the server and recieve a responce more often, and as a result, ping increases and lag results.
personaly, between the option of keping the netcode or keeping halo cheater-free, i'd stay witht he netcodde

i just read through the entire thread. most of your claims are unfound, and in a lot more cases, ridicoulous. i would like to re-adress your claims, if you give them to me one at a time.
and just give me a quick claim. don't spend a lot of time typing out a long explaniation

There's no way to cheat using mods right now. Except for the 8X Pistol zoom, but that isn't very useful.
oh, one way people can cheat is by pressing Print Screen. Makes them lag. Lag is the primary factor in "cheating."

Print screen cause lag? Honestly that's the dumbest thing I ever heard. Your PC might pause for a split second to write a TGA file to the hard drive but that's all.

Halo lags like no other game becuase of the poor netcode. Even on a LAN match with my brother hosting 4 feet away from me I dished out melees that lit up his shields but did no damage and made plenty of sniper headshots that didn't result in kills. I constantly had to lead my shots with the sniper and pistol. He won the match but guess who won when I hosted the next game? The pings were in the teens if I remember correctly and you're telling me your ping is 250? The only way to truly experience the game with no lag is to host. That's the sad truth.

convienent that none of the people who claimed that they met cheaters are coming foward now.....
and 8x pistol zoom, true that is a mod that will affect only you, but it don't matter, because pistol rounds do not have an infinate range (you have to be a host to change that) and at the range in which 8x is useful in any way, well the pistol doesn't reach that far.
and by the way, doing that on an un modded server usualy results in a lot of exception erors.....

funny that these people who claim to meat cheaters all the time don't respond now that someone who actually knows something has stepped foward..........

dude, if i could speed hack halo, i wouldn't be as good as i am today. the server MUST contoll the speed of the player anway, because kill penitities/ death rewards change the speed of your character. as for wireframe hacks, your kinda right, but then again, stealth is minimal in halo. and if someone finds you when you are being sneaky, you always have a chance to retaliate.

Ummmm....what? As far as I know nothing changes the speed of the player. You get respawn penalties etc, but you cant run faster or anything.

Unless you use a speed hack. Im not going to pretend I know all about how halo works, but we tested it. Some of them worked. Not great, but it could give you an advantage. It was like controlled warp.

The wireframe hacks, they make it easy to know things like where the flag carrier is going, if someone is waiting for you at a point, and would give you a huge advantage on a level like DC in the tunnels.

if you go into edit gametypes, and click on i think it's player options, there is a way to make it so that the server tries to balence players. when you make a lot of kills, your player starts moving slower. if you die a lot, your player moves faster. lots of servers don't have this option turned on, but the fact that it exists proves that player speed is controlled severside, and therefore can't be changed by a modder, unless set modder mods the server

at least it's not like counterstrike. there, people move at the speed of light, and there's about one hacker in every 2-3 servers.

Utter nonsense.

you're a moron, right?
have you actualy tried it? it is an option.
i know what 'auto team balence is, and first of all, it's not in player options, it's in team options.
oh well, i forgot. he's a moron. he won't try it for him self. guess i'll have to post a pic. just give me a sec.
oh, to add on to your moronic comments, you may have noticed i adressed the wireframe issue.
and as for that 'proof' you claim to have, how stupid do u think i am????
i know that left and right movement is diffrent from up and down, and you can adjust the speed accordingly. also, i like how that guy you claimed was spped hacking, though truly was going fast, so was the guy behind him. i would also like to add that the phrase 'look out for realy fast jeeps' does not help you here. in short: modded server. just moronic.

so i was wrong. it's acttualy in game options and not player options; the kill penalty/ death bonus. see?

it's small, but unless your lost your glasses, it's very readable

oh and snowfaller, thanks for the support.

Wow, foot in mouth time. Totally my bad, I was thrown by the "server's have it switched off" comment and thought you meant a serverside option. I totally apologise.

I still stand by the speed hack working though, I've seen it in action. trust me, they're one of the few hacks that do exist and work.

Oh and just for reference, the transparent textures hack doesn't work on CE. Unlike normal PC, CE performs a checksum against the map files the server has vs the client.

ya i have to admit that with low cable when someone's attacking me sometimes it should do more damage, but it's really only bad either when A.) the game host exceeds his bandwith or B.) the players bandwith is just too much(i.e half the players have dial-up) this super laggg stuff has pissed me off to now end, I think aeveryone who has ever played Halo PC can relate to trying to doge a incoming warthog only for the game to freeze and the next scene that pops up shows u dead. One thing i have noticed is that when it shows the bad connection symbol in the lower right-hand cornee stop pressing any button. I found that the game compensates for the pause by recording what u were prssing, example: I was in the middle of blood gulch, the game paused for a bit, and the whole time i was holding down on the forwards key, when the game unfroze i was halfway across the map. or in an un-related case i got so pissed off one time that i swore at the other team in capital letters for being a bunch of tank noobs and i got banned from the server.
