Ok, so, just a random stab in the dark here, but I was just pondering the trailer when a thought popped into my head.
Now, as we all know, at the end of Halo Wars, the SoF is drifting in space, much like the Chief, however at a large distance from him.
We also know that the SoF still had its Spartan contingent, as well as Serina, Cutter and Anders.
At the end of Halo Wars, we are presented with the situation of Serina waking the Captain, as "Something has happened".
I know that this is entirely speculation, and will almost guaranteed be shot down near instantaneously, but, what if, hypothetically, this "something" is the SoF being engulfed in the same way as the Forward unto Dawn is in the Halo 4 teaser, meaning that:
A) The legendary planet from the end of Halo 3, and from the Halo 4 teaser is in fact not a planet at all, and is actually just a very large ship of sorts.
And:
B) From the start of Halo 4, whatever the Chief is combating in this ship, there are already humans who may have fought, had contact with, or simply been beaten into submission by the new species.
Now, personally, I do not like this idea, but from a universal standpoint, it ties up the loose ends left behind by Halo Wars, allows the introduction of human characters to the plot line, meaning we won't only be talking to Cortana, and gives you allies on a foreign ship, meaning it won't be quite so unrealistic as "One man taking on a planet sized ship".
Constructive criticism is welcomed; non-constructive criticism will be ignored ^.^
Remember, this is just a thought so try not to flame to high hell.
