Que Pasta...?
:D

Ok, so, just a random stab in the dark here, but I was just pondering the trailer when a thought popped into my head.

Now, as we all know, at the end of Halo Wars, the SoF is drifting in space, much like the Chief, however at a large distance from him.
We also know that the SoF still had its Spartan contingent, as well as Serina, Cutter and Anders.
At the end of Halo Wars, we are presented with the situation of Serina waking the Captain, as "Something has happened".

I know that this is entirely speculation, and will almost guaranteed be shot down near instantaneously, but, what if, hypothetically, this "something" is the SoF being engulfed in the same way as the Forward unto Dawn is in the Halo 4 teaser, meaning that:
A) The legendary planet from the end of Halo 3, and from the Halo 4 teaser is in fact not a planet at all, and is actually just a very large ship of sorts.
And:
B) From the start of Halo 4, whatever the Chief is combating in this ship, there are already humans who may have fought, had contact with, or simply been beaten into submission by the new species.

Now, personally, I do not like this idea, but from a universal standpoint, it ties up the loose ends left behind by Halo Wars, allows the introduction of human characters to the plot line, meaning we won't only be talking to Cortana, and gives you allies on a foreign ship, meaning it won't be quite so unrealistic as "One man taking on a planet sized ship".

Constructive criticism is welcomed; non-constructive criticism will be ignored ^.^

Remember, this is just a thought so try not to flame to high hell.

Personally, I would love to see something between Master Chief and the lost SoF happening. \m/

Not a bad idea. That could explain him having diffrent armor.

We also know that Halo Wars created so many plot holes it's not even funny....

Halo Wars' Spartan armour was just amazingly awsome. No?

Hmm, still not quite.
Think about it, the trailer is still BEFORE he'd have come into contact with them.

Nope.avi

I'd love to see the Spirit of Fire come back into play. It'd please me endlessly. I feel like I'm the only one who LOVED Halo Wars.

Halo 3 Armour

Halo 4 Armour
They are quite different.

As for The Spirit of Fire, I would prefer Halo 4 to expand, creating new places and charicters. Including The SoF would be like trying to tie all the loose ends together.

I did genuinely love Halo Wars, I just think they'd end up creating more plot holes trying to explain where this planet-ship-thing came from, and where it's been the last 100 thousand years (atleast, that is if we're guessing it's forerunner.)

Oh, and one other thing I noticed about the actual logo itself:

Go here and look at the patterning on the logo.

Am I the only one who sees a large resemblance to the patterns on Covenant metals, like the Plasma rifle?

Just thought that one was interesting ^_^

Halo Wars portrayed a Dyson Sphere as a hollow planet. A hollow planet with a radius not too far different than that of Earth. They also portrayed it so that you could simply enter the interior through tunnels. However, those in the books, had a slipspace rupture inside that, when entered, placed you in a completely different dimension, which is why you're safe in a Dyson Sphere from the Halo effect. This Dyson Sphere also had a radius of about 1 AU, which is the distance from the Sun to Earth. A sphere so large, that it looked flat. Even Linda's Oracle sniper scope display showed that the range to the other side of the Dyson Sphere was out of the range for the rifle's range-finder.

That's just ONE of the plot holes. And I ain't saying Halo: Reach is much better about plot holes

Maybe, he had the armor he wore from Halo 3 when he comes out of the cryo tube probably later in the campaign he changes armor. That explains the Halo 4 cover having the master chief look diffrent.

I actually noticed that. Pretty interesting. Maybe there will be elites as allies in the game or some other covenant races.

Halo 4 armor is more canon then Halo 3 armor.

Except for the shoulders and the lack of the COD Piece (or whatever that crotch guard thingy is called), the armor is exactly the same, it's just a graphic update, much like the Elite armor got all throughout the Trilogy.

I think it would be difficult to bring the SoF into Halo 4. The main obstacle being that Halo Wars was not a successful game and therefore most players wont understand what the SoF is and its backstory.

I personally hope Halo 4 starts a brand new trilogy and relies on completely new material.

The function of the Shield World in Halo Wars was an entirely different one from that of Onyx, the one in Onyx was designed to be one of the fallout shelters from the Halo array, and the one in Halo Wars was built as a safe-harbor for that Forerunner fleet. And how do you know that it couldn't shelter people from the Array?

And why the frak does it matter what size it is? The Forerunners have different ship classes, what makes you think they don't have different sizes of Shield World installations?

None of what you brought up are plot holes or contradictions at all!

It'd be great for co-op and hopefully Serina and Cutter died. We could see ODSTS

Also you notice in the pic that the exposed end of the ship is facing away from the sphere rather than towards it like in the trailer

Just thought, this would also give 343 a way to implement 4 player coop, considering there are (a minimum of) 3 Spartans in Halo Wars.
