I know that 343 Industries said that they didn't want to break up the Halo: Reach fanbase, and no doubt, they are probably going to piss off a lot of fans by deciding not to use the original CE Multiplayer. I honestly don't see how they could have just integrated CE's Multiplayer into the anniversary edition, and then players could decide if they wanted to play the Multiplayer style of Reach, CEA, or both.

Don't get me wrong, I love what 343 Industries and Saber Interactive have done with the Campaign, but I feel like by deciding to use Reach's engine, a lot of potential is going to waste. $40 is still a hell of a price for Campaign and Multiplayer, but as far as the Multiplayer is concerned...I don't know...it kinda feels like we're being cheated, in a way (at least to me).

Well, that is just my two cents. Agree or disagree, I don't care, but no flaming, please.

They said that it wouldn't be the game that you remembered playing with your friends unless you actually play custom games with them. There will be the lag, pistol whores, and more. Check the 343 weekly update (I believe they're calling it the Halo Bulletin) at halo.xbox.com, they say most of the reasons there.

It is just like ODST but with an appropriate price.

One disc will use a modified engine of Reach's for the campaign, the other disc will be Reach with all the maps including the 7 new maps.

I didn't play lots of system link CE, but i did play quite some on xbc. And that wasen't a lagfree experience allways, but it was still fun.
It sounds like a bad excuse to me, and i think it's a horrible descision.

I don't care one single bit about Halo:CE maps in Reach, i don't like Reach's gameplay, and they can't make it feel like Halo:CE.
They might as well have created some whole news maps for Reach that would have made more sense imo.

Jesus loves you! But I think you're a -blam!-

I read that. Very good points. It won't bother me, as -blam!- up as Reach multiplayer can be, this will no doubt be better. I'll also tell myself to quit raging because multiplayer is for nothing but having fun. I'll be too busy with doing the campaign on every difficulty anyway. God bless yall!

While that's all fine and dandy for you and whoever else enjoyed CE on XBC, those numbers mean nothing compared to the user base of XBL who will not be tolerant of a play experience that was never designed to work online.

To everyone who has replied, thank you for keeping it clean and being mature.

I'll be honest, I don't like Reach's multiplayer. However, I felt like someone from 343 Industries said that they would try to make it feel more classic-oriented for those who have been with Halo from the beginning. If this is true, I guess it will be a win-win situation for older and newer Halo players. I have no idea if it will be like the Classic Playlist from Reach, or something else. By the way, I never played that playlist, does anyone know if it was good or not?

  • 06.07.2011 4:18 PM PDT

I'm really hoping it will not be like Team Classic. That playlist is almost as bad as the rest of the game's multiplayer.

The regulars here are generally pretty nice if you make a legitimate topic and take the time to spell words correctly. You can find out who we are by going through previous pages or asking. That said, we will rip your ass to shreds if you make another repeat topic or just post something stupid.

At least that means, that when they decide to remake Halo 2 we will get the complete package.
Perfect Dark didn't have online either, but to my knowlegde that worked out fine in the remake.

I still can't get the descicion through my head. It's like either you remake it, or you don't. 343 studios did it half, which is better than nothing i think. Whats the point or remaking them in Reach? It's Reach. I mean do Reach players really appreciate CE levels in Reach, because they are from CE or just because they are new maps?

I can't wait and i like the fact that they are doing the multiplayer on Reach but in reponse to MetKiddo i don't think they will do a halo 2 remake

Kind of hard comparing a XBLA release that met respectable sales to the FPS that not only launched a franchise but a console brand. There are expectations of a Halo multiplayer, and they range between reasonable to insanely high.

It wsa a tough choice for them to make because either way you swing you stand to piss people off. I think they attempted to do a "best of both worlds" approach, time will tell whether or not it was a good idea.

it's very good it feels like its a halo 1 online multiplayer but with precision weapons .they build maps from halo 1 and 2 in forge world like wizard, hang 'em high,Rat race.

P.S they named the maps differently i don't know why

I completely agree. It would seem like the most obvious decision. It is something every Halo fan has always dreamed of, and while there may be lag, host, and a number of other problems, we should at least be given the option. It has been mentioned that their desire is to keep the Reach fanbase continually active and I can understand that for business reasons. But as far as business goes, you definitely won't be getting mine if I can't play original Halo 1 on Xbox Live.
