I've never heard of this before, but it was really interesting
The story.
I'm amazed by the time spent alone, simply to set it all up.

Is there anyone who remembers awesome stunts and tricks like these to try and pull off in Halo CEA?

Damn professionals. How they managed to avoid the splattering physics I'll never know. :(

I highly doubt that the majority can do that. If it were possible though, I would easily renounce all my complaints about the physics and collision.

Multiple ways. In many cases the launch involves flipping out of the vehicle, so you're never being hit by the thing to begin with. Alternately, on the ones where the vehicle does strike the player, you avoid being splattered by flipping it as it comes to strike you. When a vehicle is being flipped, it can't splatter.

Nah. It took him a matter of days.

It took the community seven years to do. It wasn't done by one person.

WELL DESERVED BUMP

6+ years is a **long** time. I joined High Impact Halo just 2 months after the trick was proposed, and it ended up outliving the site.

Don't ever think that it was easy. The setup takes 6+ hours, Halo 1 has no co-op save feature, and the ratio of good launch attempts to bad is massive.

The owner of HIH promised $50 to whoever pulled it off first. I've already sent off my own gift to the champion.

I suggest re-posting this on other forums to give thanks to Duelies, Boofass, and everyone at HIH & jumprs.org who overcame what is likely the greatest video game stunt of all time!!!!!!

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

Boofass has now also done it. I believe one day whilst boof was launching we figured out that for one day of launching (not a full day)it was around 4,000 launches. I would estimate probably around 100,000 attempts have been made at landing it over the years.

We need to bring trick jumping back in business. I was never really one for it but I gave it a shot in H2 and it was a blast. Long live HIH
