Wow, just wow!

At first I thought the trilogy should've stayed untouched. I didn't think it needed a continuance. But then I saw the trailer. i must say, I am thoroughly intrigued.

question everything...truth has no pedigree

You mean at the end of Halo 3 where they leave it wide open for Halo 4?

At that point, I thought "cool, we're gonna get to see the Chief -blam!- -blam!- up with the Forerunners".

I could be wrong about that though.

When I saw it was taking place after Halo 3 my reaction was one of mild dissapointment. They have the entirety of the 30-year war between the Covenant to explore and instead opt to continue a story that was already wrapped up nicely. It also craps all over "Finish the Fight."

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

Prepare to die.

Something like this.
I need to know what happens to MC.

So you are just totally fine with not knowing what happens to the Chief?

  • 06.07.2011 6:33 PM PDT

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

I knew it was coming, but I could never have been prepared. It's been too long.

I'm definitely interested in the story and what will happen but my first thought was "Holiday 2012... I'll start caring at the next E3."

Yep.

I thought the end to Halo 3 was a great compromise between killing him outright and having to explain just what it is a Spartan does with a lot of free time on his hands.

It was also a nice nod to both the first game and carried on the tradition of Spartans never dying, the just go MIA.

To me the trailer looked like just another generic action game. I also acknowledge that it's very early, and will reserve final judgement until I see the final product. As it is now I'm more interested in the CE remake.

And totally fine leaving the series off at that massive cliff hanger? After the years of building up the mystery behind Medicant Bias, the Forerunners final, unknown destination and the Chief's connection with them?

Really?

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

The Button

One of my friends told me about it and I didn't believe them, I thought that it was a joke by someone else. Then I went to a few websites and they all had it, so it was real.

Yes, becasue to me the story ultimatly isn't about Mendicant Bias or the Forerunners, it's about the Chief and his quest to save humanity from the Covenant. Those things add to the story to be sure , but they aren't the primary focus.

A lot of that mysterious stuff is going to be explained through the Forerunner trilogy (the books) so there's no need to explain it in game format.

As for the Chief's return some people like it, others don't. Nothing wrong with wanting something to stay a mystery, as sometimes things are better left as such. I'm not saying this is the case with Halo 4. For that to be answered we'll have to see the final product which I'll admit I am excited about.
