I encountered a strange network problem with my Halo dedicated server after several weeks of normal operation. My dedicated server is visible when using the Gamespy client but it cannot be seen from within Halo's built-in internet server browser. This seems particularly odd because Halo's built-in browser states that it is "powered by gamespy". The server_public value in my halo dedicated server init.txt file is set to true.

Under normal circumstances my server is filled with players. In the last week however, not one player has joined. I suspect something is wrong but because the server is visible on the gamespy client but not on Halo's internal browser, I don't know how to further troubleshoot my server's absence.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Snelephant.

What's the name of your server? I'll double-check to see if I can see it through Halo's server browser.

The server_public value in my halo dedicated server init.txt file is set to true.

Well, the command is sv_public. If you used server_public, it doesn't even recognize the command, and ignores it. I've been ezperimenting with this myself. When you see the game in the list in GS Arcade, are you able to join it? Also, try going into Halo's settings, and change the ports to something else.
