There's no point because the graphics engines are too different. It'd quite likely just look and perform horribly.
The Halo 2 ports worked (sort of) from a visual standpoint because the engines aren't that far apart and these days we have enough horsepower in the average PC to push the engine beyond what it was intended and optimised for. We can get prettier graphics but there's usually a heavy performance penalty to pay for utilising it in unintended manners.
HCEA's graphics engine is clearly based on Reach/possibly Halo 4 tech, not HCE's. We could not hope to recreate that, even if we had the source code.
no it is not using reachs graphics engine it is using the original one built on top of it. that is why you can switch between old and new graphicsActually what they did with it is that Saber Interactive built an entirely new graphics engine that was then placed on top of the original game's engine (Two engines running at once)
@Btcc22: I see your point about it not being possible to get the full extent of the graphical power to look like Anniversary, but what I meant was that someone could replicate the style of it. Not as pretty, just making the same sort of changes. Personally, I'm just going to take this, continue playing Combat Evolved's Multiplayer, and call it even.
