So, at the end of the halo 3 legendary ending, john and cortana are floating towards the big planet thing. in the trailer for halo 4, when he wakes up, he must not have been in the cyro tube long because what they are being pulled into MUST have been that huge thing from the halo 3 legendary ending.(and they were going towards it pretty fast)Thoughts?

we don't know how much time went by from when he fell asleep to when they float towards the planet

Sangheili Major: "Brute ships. Staggered line! Shipmaster, they outnumber us, three-to-one!"

Rtas 'Vadum: "Then it is an even fight. All Cruisers, fire at will! Burn their mongrel hides!"

He was asleep for at least four years.
The Halo Legends episode "Origins" was based in 2556, whereas Halo 3 left off 2552. (Excluding the Legendary ending, which was probably a skip forward in time from the actual ending cutscene.)

From the time MC got into the Cryo-tube, and when he started approaching the Installation is an unknown time. It must have been considerably long because in the halo 4 trailer there's snow on the ground and in the air.

not to mention the ship has gotten smaller, power has been mildly restored (cyro tube use their own power source) and snow and ice in space actually takes forever to buildup because it is mostly vacuum in space.
