I will be picking up Vista but not Halo 2 for the PC. I've played Halo 2 to death, and now that I have my 360, there are many other great games I'm interested in playing. I'll wait till Bungie's next project is ready to play....whenever the hell that is.....bungie is making me tired. yawn.....

I am fearful that all the people that said Halo2 would "NEVAR" come to the PC, will cause the extinction of the bird known as the crow. (I suggest they prepare it rotisserie style.)

I for one am very pleased with this news and will be happy to play Halo2 on my PC as soon as it is available.

Mac anyone!

But halo PC the first one Sucked you needed a super computer to run the dam thing (sure i onwed it for a PC and Mac) and it never looked as good as the xbox, but Halo Custom Ed was a good installment i use that alot to create my halo world. But now theres a halo 2 PC ok now what kind of PC could run that, maybe my Quad G5 will but i dont think a PC will be even able to run it to full graphics, if they release a halo 2 CE I will be open arms and buying it but the words windows is a problem so please make a port or something to the MAC.

See ya star side

"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

I run it on my version of a Gateway...I think it is like 5 years old. I know it is old enough to have Millenium Edition installed on it as the OS. So it does not need to be perfect. If it is an HP, I understand.

You want to know what it'd be like to have no moderators on this site? Try this easy to prepare simulation.
Step 1: Procure yourself an intact box, something a fridge or similarly large appliance.
Step 2: Fill cardboard box halfway with feral cats. One or two should be rabid.
Step 3: Climb inside the box, closing the top behind you.
Step 4: Begin screaming and thrashing wildly at the cats.

Further proof for all those that doubt that Halo 3 is Bungie's next game:

Q: Is Bungie's lack of involvement in the port of Halo 2 for Windows Vista due to their work on Halo 3?
A: Although Bungie Studios' primary focus lies elsewhere, it is important to note that they are involved in the creation of Halo 2 for Windows Vista. They are working closely with an internal Microsoft Game Studios team.

Frankie did not deny that Halo 3 is their next game. If this isn't concrete enough evidence I don't know what is.

Bungie Studios and Microsoft's steadfast commitment to quality determined that the Windows Vista platform would provide the best possible version of Halo 2 for the Windows PC.

Yeah, I too find that a little hard to believe hehe.. I'm not quite sure how a game that was targeted to run on what is basically equivilent to DirectX 8.1 and a 733Mhz processor could possibly require a more robust set of hardware and software than is currently available with Windows XP.

If you believe that they aren't using Halo2 as a killer app to boost Vista sales, then you are easily deceived :p

That said though, I've always dreamed of Halo2 on the PC... *tear*

Well. I must say I am very disappointed. I thought Halo 2 was an Xbox only thing, and I taken extreme pride to that. Now its comming out for Vista. I found it perfectly fine on the Xbox and now, you force me to buy Windows Vista, AND Halo 2 for it. Now knowing I have to save up for more than a 360, any word on minimum requirements for the game?

I must know the requirements. Anything general will do. Just tell me RAM and video memory, and I'm good.

You lot don't realise how much better the upcoming PC version is better than xbox version, and Bungie are using Vista to their advantage. You xbox players and your limited consoles can't beat the superior PC. Bungie know that H2 PC as well as i will sell very well as thousands of other people that want H2PC hav said... Even Bungie just basically said that Halo 2 on PC is guna be superior!

And if Halo 2 PC players play against Xbox players.... bring it!

What a ploy by microsoft to boost vista sales. they really do need it though because far less people are going to buy vista on launch than xp. selling all your gear to get a vista pc dosent make any sense. i agree that a map creator would be kickass but basically your buying a map creator coz really there are far better things thatn vista available at the momrnt *cough* OSX *cough* .
no way am i gonna sell all my gear to get a vista just for halo 2 pc. id rather have no map creator and a decent operating system.

Wow, Frankie sounded an awful lot like a lawyer right there. The real Frankie would've spoken much more of Mister Chief and rainbows. Nope, I think the guy who wrote that was an imposter from Microsoft.

Where, may I ask, did you get the idea they were forcing you to do anything? You are still quite welcome if you want to play H2 on your Xbox...

Same thoughts here. The whole article is quite dubious. Its like one great big ad for Windows Vista.

So I'm to believe that my 2.8 GhZ P4HT 700X Radeon 1GB 3200MhZ powered PC which blows the living crap out of the power of the XBox will be unable to process Halo 2? Thats like saying that my brand new Porshe will not be able to outrun a Honda Civic unless its painted red. An operating system is just a program used to correlate the various components of a computer into a working system. Unless Windows Vista requires far less resources than XP or unless Vista somehow allows coding to be run with far greater efficiency then I am not impressed.

Furthermore, you may as well have told me that you have predicted the winner of the next Oscar and that they'll be an Actor or Actress. You don't release a single detail about the game other than it is for Windows Vista only and you can't tell us a single morsel of info about specs, improvements, game engine, revamps or, I repeat, improvements? Fabulous; I think I'll just let this ship sail by until it is in the $10 bin at Walmart.

Wow... Map Customization.... like we couldnt do that before. I love the comment "We are not just doing this to sell Windows Vista." Please, at least dont lie to us. If it ABSOULETLY needs Windows Vista, then why is it possible that it could come out on Mac. That must be the better operating system then, it obviously doesnt need specific versions to play a game. Come on, just straight up tell us you want a bunch of people to buy Vista, so your producing a game that everyone wants on the PC anyways that only works with Vista. I hope its bundled with Vista or else I might not even consider it.

Wait, are you serious? That game sucks, its the worse of all the nex-gen games. Its got clunky controls, horrible singleplayer, and horrible graphical effects (way over the top).

Well you need to consider that PC games use the precision aiming of a mouse and keyboard and NO auto-aim. They use dedicated servers so NO host/ host advantage. So all of the “noob” aspects of the xbox version will not be there for the PC version. Now all they need to do is keep Gearbox from doing the port and screwing up the net code and it will be great!!
