I am a Floodian

yeah, um... yay.. easier modding, and possibly the longest most uneccesary amounts of "we have not yet announced information about ____ at this time"

Well, DUH, you just announced halo 2 for vista. Bungie I am glad that you have announced this, however I would like a lot more actual announcing going on than what I saw in this, I would like to know something about multiplayer, other than that there will be completely one sided maps, and modding galore.

I am sorry if I am sounding negative, but this seems like a waste of time, there was no need to go into specifics, since there were so few, or have that worthless Q&A segment because of the lack of answers there.

aah. Windows Vista. *smile* Microsoft's new magic bean OS. Well, I will say the Q & A did a good job of masking the potentially uneventful drabness of it. It sounds super terrific.
The marketing maneuver is sharp though. That has to be admitted, but the "requires the use of the best available technological platform" is....meh, wearisome.

Anyways, Bungie can roll with the punches as good as anyone, that much can be said. Good luck with the next project. It will be the opposite of what Windows Vista will be!

Damn, I haven't changed this in like 4 years...

I won't be buying this unless you make a Macintosh OSX version, and that's final.

Q: Is Bungie's lack of involvement in the port of Halo 2 for Windows Vista due to their work on Halo 3?
A: Although Bungie Studios' primary focus lies elsewhere, it is important to note that they are involved in the creation of Halo 2 for Windows Vista. They are working closely with an internal Microsoft Game Studios team.

Does this mean Yall are working on Halo 3?

First off, Im sure Halo 2 for PC would work with windows xp. But why make it compatible for XP when bungie is partnerd with micosoft and they both can make a crap load of money from this!!!!!!!!! Then on top of it, about 6 months later or more bungie will release Halo 3, then all us suckers who spent money on Halo 2 PC and Vista will now go out and buy Halo 3 which will only be compatible with the Xbox 360!!!!!!!! So now we will have to buy a 360 just to play Halo 3. So if you figure it out we will spend the following amount of money for a game that just wates our time and money when we could be doing something to better ourselves!!!!!!

xbox 360: $400
windows vista: $299 (estimated price)
halo 2 for pc: $60 (estimated price)
halo 3 for 360: $70 (estimated price)
xbox live: $50

add that up with your local sales tax and: $955

wow that sure is alot of money!

one more thing, im sure microsoft and bungie will find a way for us to pay to play halo 2 pc multiplayer!

good luck and happy gaming!

This means, that they aren't just working on H2PC, right?!
That could mean... H3, or some other project, is STILL IN PRODUCTION!
If this is true, Bungie, you are gods (not like you aren't already).

Edit: i see 2 posts above me, a guy posted it :P Oh well, the message needs to get out.

QUESTION FOR BUNGIE: When you purchase the Windows Vista, do you use your Halo 2 Xbox CD and put it into your computer or do you do you buy a whole different Halo 2 game and use that?

Q: Is the release of Halo 2 for Windows Vista just a way to force consumers to purchase the new operating system?
A: Absolutely not. Bungie Studios and Microsoft's steadfast commitment to quality determined that the Windows Vista platform would provide the best possible version of Halo 2 for the Windows PC. We will provide you with more details in the future.

This is the biggest piece of bull-blam!- bungie has ever said.

Sigh. The xbox cd, (actually a dvd, duh), is for XBOX ONLY. You will have to buy a new disc, for pc, try reading.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
what im saying is, im sure we wont be able to play for free! its just another way for them to make money from us!

PS- this just gives me another reason to not like Bungie

Because it drives the point home that detailed answers are not available at this time. It obviously worked - you're bolding the important text in your post: we have not yet announced details.

Posted by: PR3DA7OR1AL

Bungie, why must you make me want to harm you nice guys? Hmmmmm?

Now, ya see... I love Halo 2... and Vista looks great (this coming from a Mac lover, still stuck with Microbrain (the people you know as Microsoft) OS'.)

But Im not going to go out an purchase Vista (not that I would have anyway.... but thats beside the point) to play a game I already have... (I sense a marketing ploy here.... I really do... otherwise It would work with XP.)

That above statement may seem stupid.... but why would you do it? Hmmm?

So tell me.... is it really because itll only work for Vista... is it because you MS and You just want money.... perhaps youre just to lazy to make it work with XP.... I dont know ... I really dont.... but you are making me lose faith Bungie....

Halo 2's only reason for it being ported to the PC is because microsoft wants something that will attract idio- I mean gamers to vista and also I'm sure that the new feautres of halo 2 will be like the ones for halo 1 stupid and useless.

Unreal 2k4 rant:

to those of you who say that halo 2 does not look as good as unreal tournment 2004 I would like to point out the following: unreal tournement 2004 has clunky controls un-balanced weapons and maps and the development team for that is about 4 times larger than the one for halo 2. than you must also take into consideration halo 2 has the constraints of the xbox 1 which has a 66Mhz Bus and 64MB of total shared ram (vram and regular ram) and 733mhz CELERON (as in a processor so crappy the pentium III is better) processor with NO load times and a solid 30 FPS. and it still looks better than unreal tournment does using those same reqiruements hell it looks better than unreal tourney does on MAX settings. it has better lighting better physics and better multiplayer... if bungie had a development team the size of Unreal Tournememnt 2004's they would have a game that blows unreal tourney 2k4 out of the water even more than it already does. Also, halo 2 is completly re-one there is no single part of halo 1's engine in it. unreal tourney 2004 is 2003 with a better physics engine slightly better graphics more maps, weapons and vehicles and weapon types and match types thats why it only took about a year to make it was basically the same game!

Yes! I'm definately upgrading. No longer is Halo 2 bound by graphical boundaries due to the poo CPU and GPU of the Xbox! IT CAN BE SHOWN THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE SHOWN. IN *HIGHER* DEFINITION WITH ANTI-ALIASING (I hope o.o ) AND SMOOTHER TEXTURES ( and hell maybe even HDR)

I think this will be the Halo 2 I was waiting for all those years ago. Since I found the xbox version empty once I got home from my midnight-line outing ( I'm going to be horded by all you severe Halo fans. I mean, dont get me wrong I LOVOOOEEE halo so much I even got the books and loved them and typo'd! but im the type that liked Halo 1 better, ya dig?!?! )

nVidia's website says that their 7800 GTX cards will be Vista-ready. ( and I plan on getting that card tomorrow)

HOORAY FOR BUNGIE. HOORAY FOR MASTER CHIEF. HOORAY SOMETHING HALO-RELATED I CAN LOOK FORWARD TO

P.s. the above poster also reminded me there will probably be faster framerates HELLZ YEUAHH

Hmm, so Bungie has been Microsoft-ilized completely now.

Being used as a launch platform for everything lately.
Bordering along the lines of being sell-outs...

I only hope "ONP" kicks ass enough to make up for it.
