My Suggestions
1. ATV back in the game
2. More maps and vehicles
3. Drivable Pelican or Longsword in Multiplayer
4. Windows Xp with Halo 2 too
5. LAN and Online Cooperation Mode in Campaign

They are few but good.

I never said remove 56k support, that is technically speaking, impossible, what i said was that nothing in the game should be "56k friendly", it should ALL be optimised for broadband connections, which, as i said before, now outweigh dial-up connections, because as you state yourselves "broadband isn't available in some rural areas", i.e. most people can get broadband, and do have broadband, even if it is only 256k, it's better than 56k, with its piss-poor upload speeds.

My main point was that it doesn't matter about whether you can get a high-speed connection, it's just that dial up connections are not suitable for online gaming, and never have been, gaming online with 56k is impossible, and is probably the root of all of your complaints of lag in H1PC.

"AFK kick on the dedicated servers" by Iggwilv
Away From Keyboard...YTF is it too much to type the -blam!-'n words?

pardon me but XBL is centralized. How much more dedicated could servers become?!?!?! I think you mean to say that you want a different Menu with different Modes than that are included in Halo 2 (XBL). Probably the familiar and widely used pair of modes that are included in practically every other XBL enabled title (Quickmatch & Optimatch). Just because Bungie decided to misrepresent those familar terms in their unique franchise upon the XBL members, the explanations/stickies had to be provided when the members that did not get the expected response from the familar mode terms.

Whomever is responsible for not cleaning up the Halo 2 menu for XBL should be..... oh, use you imagination. It should have read as:
Playlist; Create Party; & Content Download.

Removing the terms Quickmatch & Optimatch would have been more professional. More clean and directly simplified for functionality's sake. You know, acknowledging the rest of the industry already on XBL.

The innovativeness and creativity should be acknowledged as the gameplay and all the elements that make it Halo, not the XBL modes. THat was the kick in the nuts. That was further swelled by the cheaters. Who coinsidently were promoted via HaloCE on PC (amungst other PC titles). Who would have saw that coming? Oh, maybe not the Xbox Live Team credited on page 31 of the Halo 2 manual under the Microsoft. Way to go numb skulls. You drawing on the same idealistic drafting table as the biggest administraton of -blam!- ups?

I recommend a "team search n destroy" like in Counter-Strike source, good to see Spartans VS. Elites in a realistic veiw, that me be already on there though...

Here me out, Iggwilv:

Have you ever noticed (especially during team games), that it's annoying that you don't know who is around you? You have to turn your view directly at them and keep your view of them for a second or two before a slightly visible name comes up and tells you who they are. And in a warthog, there's no way you can tell who's driving or gunning for you. It would be a little bit easier for people to coordinate attacks if they knew who they were working with.

Therefore, a nice new feature could be a control that allows you to use a button to toggle visible names of your teammates that appear above them.

I think it would be quite useful : )

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Ok, I've decided that I simply won't buy Halo2 if they support 56k.

Been there done that with Halo already. It's 2006 guys- time to ask your parents for broadband or get a job like the rest of us.

now I shall post my suggestions. *im sure that the two of you heard my rant...*

1. Get rid of the field where you chose your connection type. The game should be able to detect what speed you are.
2. Chose what connection types you want to want to include/exclude in your game.
3. Have the ability to chose between the new weapon set and old weapon set. The old weapon set should be an unlockable option when you beat legendary.
4. A possible new ending for legendary, a nice bonus IMO.
5. Have the Promethius team instead create the map editor/creator. people who know what I mean probably could agree. They are building in the ability for h2 maps for xbox, Im sure that the h2 pc wont be too much diffrent.
6. A few new game types, but not too over the top.

I would want to drive a Pelican in Halo 2 PC, if the map team makes map like the Bridge Level in Campaign, they should put a Pelican in there, it would help in Assault type of match.

Well, a pelican would be nice, but maps arent ecxatly large enough for pelicans. What I think is some sort of human attack chopper that coincides with the banshee.

Heres what I want
-more vehicles such as the atv as someone already mentioned
-a couple of new maps
-NO AUTOAIM
-NO HUGE HITBOXES LIKE ON THE XBOX
-balance the weapons more such as energy sword has an ammo count
-clan support
-stats but NO leader boards because all the of top 5 are usually hackers(at least in the xboxlive ones-though they are taking out now)
-Server browser no match making
-no levels because sometimes you want to play with people higher or lower levels then you but you can't because of the stupid matchmaking it was alright for xbl but not good for online gaming on a pc.
-NO montly fee, because I know they are thinking about it
-Same customizability plus our own emblems for our armor
-Make the Elite and Spartans equal
-Broadband/dsl/cable support ONLY
Also about the 56k I have played with 56k before and let me tell you even if the game supports it man is it still laggy it is almost impossible to play with, and hell playing against them isn't a walk in the park either because they keep disapearing. If you have 56k you shouldn't be playing online games because it just sucks, it is okay for everything else but when it comes to online serously how can you play with all that lag.

Being able to play as the aliens and marines, cause being a marine would be cool. Plus maybe NOT BEING ONLY FOR VISTA would be freaking nice, as in, I don't want to spend a truckload of money just to play H2 on PC. If I wanted to play it that badly, I'd mod an XBox to accept a keyboard and mouse, dammit!

auto-download would be nice... so that if someone does make a mod, you can actualy play on the map, as opposed to it screwing everything up. an auto download of custom content would also be nice....

How about for TKers and other bannable offenses you have to use a gamespy login. And you coan get banned on that. And you can't make another.

this isnt what i want, becasue i want so much more. this is what i expect:
no autoaim
drivable shadow bus(carries 6 passengers and 1 driver and 1 gunner)
'hog or shade variant(rocket/FRG)
multiplayer FRG
multiplayer Flamethrower
(4 maps) remake maps(sidewinder, hangemhigh) or new maps
ability to add 'nade start to backwash
mapmaker (prometheus may still be better)
more emblems

what i want is so badass:
drivable pelican(1 pilot and 8 passengers and 1 gunner)
more than 16 players: 24 or 32 would be ideal
multiplayer Gravity Hammer/Fist of Ruhk
Bot Support
bitmapping- screw bumpmapping
multiplayer flood ranger form
multiplayer co-op(aint likely...)

what i think is dumber than horse shiot:
restricting play for tkers(its a server system, no MM, just boot 'em asswipe)
halo2 xp: it aint gunna happen
connect with 360 or xbl sounds lame
lag

Is not worth it , HALO 2 PC is just to sell more Vista , i wont buy that crap , instead of using less resources it uses even more, thats not the way to create an OS , you need to make it use less ram , less cpu , security is gonna be the same as WindowsXP , then comes Vienna , come on Microsoft , phew i think ill convert to LINUX.

It is inevitable for newer programs to use more ram and resources, its how they use them that is a problem. If you are going to post all negative, don't post at all.

What do you mean by bitmapping? Never heard of that. Bump mapping/ normal mapping is what was in the first halo, and paralax mapping is close, but can be alot more deeper and can block other surfaces (haven't seen this used, there is a disabled feature in source though). Bitmapping is new to me.

First of all, whoa whoa whoa lets stop this great thread from turning into flaming alright, stay on the main topic!!!!

Alright back to the main topic, there should be 56k support however I suggest server side options. They should make it so the game can detect the internet speed you have, so they can add server side support, so people can choose to allow 56kers or not, if someone has enough upload then that person can allow 56kers for a lag free game, but if they don't then they can choose to exclude 56kers for a lag free game. Now I have nothing agasin't 56kers becasue i know they would upgrade if they could but they lag up the game, now this would be great becuase the server creater can use common sense to make the best possible server without lag. So the 56kers would be happy becasue no lag on there part and the people with broadband and up will be happy becasue of lag free games also. So everyone is HAPPY!!!!

Bungie i hope your reading this thread becasue there are some pretty good ideas here.

bitmapping? halo pc supported bitmapping, that is how they got the textures in there. Im sure you mean vertex shading and pixel shading. bump-mapping is for dynamic lights to create textures and depth.

Im guessing that you need vista to be able to load certain things and decrease recources. Its almost guarenteed that there will be no popping textures and fast loads.

and at least haloman agrees with me ^^

Ya acutally read the other posts i came up with the idea of the game detecting the internet speed your using, i put that pretty earlier on maybe in the 30's 40's or 50's posts, its just that i used your sentence becasue its clear and not as long as my pargraph on it. LoL

So acutally you agree with me, sorta in a way..........

Update(only seconds after post): back, I found where it was, my orginal post on the idea is in the third page 2 post. :)

Enough moaning about Vista, if you can't run Vista there'll be no way you can run Halo 2, so you'd have to upgrade to play it regardless, sure you'll have to shell out £90 or so for a new operating system, but then you'll be set for the next 5 or so years until MS release their next big operating system, also I can't see there being a Mac version - Halo is Microsofts weapon to control gamers, the more gamers they move on to PC's and Windows the better.

As for 56k support, if the Multiplayer servers are set up to allow for third party modifications people will just write auto scripts to kick people who's pings exceed a certain amount, infact it'd be quite nice if Bungie included that straight off the bat, that way 56kers could play on certain servers but there'd be some reserved for gamers who don't enjoy the lag.

I'd like for Bungie to make the graphics worthy of modern PC hardware, by the time this ships UT2k7 etc may be out or looming over, and they're some fancy graphics - I'm sure Bungie and Microsoft will want their 'next gen OS' to be associated with 'next gen graphics' and not a half assed console ports.
