I've been saying this over and over. The fuel rod gun in Halo 2 is not the overwhelming, all-powerful noob weapon that we all know and love (to hate) in Halo PC. It may actually be a good addition to Halo 2, to put it in multiplayer. It's not as overpowered or as unbalanced as in the first Halo. Of course it's all theory considering in Halo 2 you can't use fuel rods in multiplayer and in Halo Combat Evolved you can only use the fuel rod cannon in multiplayer. So we'll see how that works out, hopefully. Besides, some talented modders will probably add a fuel rod in anyway if Bungie decides not to put it into multiplayer.

They added new styff into halopc so they'll probably add stuff into H2V...it does make sense

They can't go wrong with extra maps. While it takes more time than adding weapons, it won't unbalance things.

Oh, BRING FORTH THE FLAMTHROWER! Just to see it vs the sword.

I disagree. While the sword has the uber-cool lunge, it can only kill when the user actually gets to poit-blank range. The flamethrower, while being a very short-range weapon, would kill the sword wielder if the flamer fired first.

You're forgetting something. The shotgun, another close range weapon. Do we really need more short-range weapons? We don't want redundancy here, that's not Halo's style.

I'm sure that if they don't include the flame thrower, within a week someone will release the flame thrower for H2.

Actually the flame thrower is short medium range weapon. It can go far.

Actually there are people who are probably going to release all of halo pc's weapons and vehicles for halo 2. Because of Bluestreak we can easily recompile halo's bsp's for halo 2.

i think they should just keep it basic. the FRG in halo 1 pc was horrible. the only way they could balance it would be to change it froma 3 shots kill to a 6 shot kill so it would take more fr shots to kill and make it over heat faster.

That was one of my ideas on Halo 2 for Xbox. I hate to see people pick up the rocket launcher all the time, so if I wanted to take it out, I'd have to make something like all Snipers or Shotguns gametypes. I really hope do that H2V/H2PC has something like that. Because I just want one gun out of the map, not all, nor have them all switched.

Actualy, Bluestreak only lets you rip the models from Halo1, it probably won't be easy to put them into Halo2 because there will be no shaders.

Lol, Kim, go play "The Library" and try to say that again with a straight face. I like the idea of having to charge up the fuel rod gun, a little more balance, however if you had to charge it, Bungie would probably bring up the power to match the slow firerate.

Ah, but the flamethrower isn't JUST a close range weapon, it's an area denial weapon. No-one in their right mind would charge into billowing flames. The shotgun is more of an assault weapon type, much like the fuel rod is a better bombardment weapon than the accurate rocket launcher.

thats the challange isnt it? you will have to create your own shaders to match the old ones. you will also have to re-create any effects.

Because, it has a wide area of effect, and huge splash damage. It's not that hard to hit people with it, whereas the pistol is a weapon of precision, skill and aim. Also, it takes two kills, not three, to kill somebody with the FRG. I know you haven't figured this out yet considering you have horrible aim and can't hit the broadside of a barn on fire with a heat-seeking rocket, and thus have never hit a player two times in a row with a FRG.

I've got a great new, TOTALLY ORIGINAL weapon idea - a incendiary shoulder-launched mortar.

Basically, it fires a flaming red canister, which arcs forward and downward, and where it hits it explodes in a gout of red/orange flame with decent splash damage.

I'd reckon 2 direct hits should kill someone, or 3 nearby hits for splash.

You'd be able to fire 6 times consecutively before reloading, but if you leave gaps between firing the fuel would auto-reload, meaning you would be able to fire large numbers until you run out of fuel completely.

I'd call it the Fire Ranged Canister, or FRC.
