Then just ignore them and don't post.

I am going to be getting Halo 2 for Vista but, I am not getting Vista just for Halo 2. I was planning on getting it when I heard about it, so no loss there.
My only concern about Halo 2 only being on Vista is that the online servers might be pretty empty up until other people get Vista.

I was planning that my upcoming purchase of a Media Center PC was waiting on Vista as well as appropriate hardware.

So for me it would mean that I could play Halo 2 on my HDTV..... hey! I already CAN do that!

In other words, the game is not what is going to make me get the OS.

Now I know that you were getting it for other reasons but still.....

I bet another Marathon game would.

But seriously, I was already going to get this anyway, mostly due to mapping, unless I have to spend money (unless its a small amount uner 100$). I was already getting Vista, because we always get the new Windows OS pretty quickly after it is released.

I do not think so.
I played a zillion games after the decline of Halo I.
Do not misunderstand, I loved HAlo I. Really one of the best ever.

Ah let me guess ...

Halo 1 is going to die and Halo 2 is going to go up.

What about all those people modding Halo PC? What about their Halo 2 mods? Will they die along with Halo?

Is this forum going to die and there is going to be a new forum about Halo 2 instead?

Note that all that ws just what I was thinking of, so don't say "join the Halo 2 gang" to me because I know what I am doing, and I do like Halo 2, but I don't like it when I have to join things and the thing I really liked has to die.

Really, think about it, will people still play Halo PC when a million others are playing Halo 2?

Take it easy!
You are correct!
I am no MS (f-ck) agent, as I hate that MS crap (Vista, ha!!!)
I see there is alot of servers.

Only thing I was saying: there are a lot of other games!

The modding is fine, but I somehow never got to it. Did 1/2L instead.

If you are modding pc, then you really should be modding CE, and if you are modding CE, you will change to halo 2. Almost everyone modding CE has wished for a halo 2 to mod, and now there will be.

Ill tell you what will factor into my buying.

-Price for Vista. No way am I going to get Vista when my XP operates just fine. i am patient enough to wait for vista for the price to go down.

-Price for Halo 2 Vista. I dont want to shell out another 50 for a game I already have.

One reason I would like Halo 2 vista are because as long as I can use the X360 controller peripheral, I would like the ability to create custom maps.

I wonder if the map changing ability created into Vista Halo 2 will be implimented into the Next Project.

I would, simply because other games are going to be comming out for the Vista also, so why not, get the new OS and you'll be able to play the games that come out with it. So you have to spend extra cash think of it like the XBOX 360 you have to spend extra cash to play the new games.

Another Marathon game wouldn't be a Marathon game if it wasn't available for the Mac. And I'm sure Recon's just dying for a reason to buy a Mac. ;)

Now how on earth would Microsoft overcome their biggest OS killer, themselves?
Port Halo 2 exclusively to the new OS platform, Windows vista.

how dumb to u think we are?
this is nothing but a marketing ploy.

"Q: Why are you releasing Halo 2 for Windows Vista only?
A: As Bungie Studios and Microsoft are dedicated to delivering a top quality translation of Halo 2 for the PC, their efforts require the use of the best available technological platform for Windows games. Windows Vista will help bring clarity to our customers and help them get more out of their personal computing experience, allowing them to focus on what matters most to them."

Bull-blam!-. they dont even answer the question. it should read:
Because we are trying to flog our new OS, and the only way to get people to go and fork out $$$ for another bug riddled OS is to port our most popular game to our new OS exclusively.

"Q: Why is Halo 2 for Windows Vista not backwards compatible?
A: To deliver an optimal gameplay experience, Windows Vista will provide a great platform on which to bring to Halo 2. Microsoft and Bungie Studios will provide additional information at a later date."

Yes it MAY bring a slightly better gameplay experience, but its more bull-blam!- that XP or even 98 couldn't run it. are u trying to say to me that my new PC aint good enough now to play Halo 2 when its more powerful the my 4 year old xbox.

"Q: Is the release of Halo 2 for Windows Vista just a way to force consumers to purchase the new operating system?
A: Absolutely not. Bungie Studios and Microsoft's steadfast commitment to quality determined that the Windows Vista platform would provide the best possible version of Halo 2 for the Windows PC. We will provide you with more details in the future."

BULL-blam!-!!! again they dodge the question.
"Windows Vista WOULD provide the best possible version of Halo 2" but does that mean that XP couldn't do 99.99% of the job that Vista could.

just look at half life 2. it runs fine on XP and looks better then halo 2 ever will.

Im no computer whiz, dont get me wrong.
but i do know microsoft's history.
anyone remember the problems Microsoft had flogging XP?

well this time they are trying it again, and using Bungie's creation to whoo the blind sheep.

Just my 2c...
